Pelicans' Tyreke Evans plans to undergo surgery on his right knee and likely out for rest of the season, league sources tell The Vertical.
Eric, Quincy, Jrue, Tyreke, etc...this team is better at botching injuries than building a winner.

Disaster of an offseason/season. Almost everything that could go wrong, has.

The coaching change: disaster.

Injuries: As many as ever.

Local tv interest: cratering.

Possibly finally ready to move some of the ill fitting roster pieces: They perform AWFULLY or get hurt juuuuuuuust before the trade deadline.

Disaster.

Only thing keeping my sanity intact:

There goes your Tyreke trades....

On the other side of this though, I haven't caught more than 7-9 Pels games, but you guys have said the team plays better without him.

A certain pyrotechnic has been alright performance wise as has a large man that likes a certain pasta dish.

Tyreke was likely going to be shut down anyway as the losses were piling up,might as well get it over with. I didn't realistically think he'd be moved this season.

That one guy that looks like a lemonhead could get moved too.

Feb 17 is 4 weeks for EG... he could come out of the break ready to play minutes for someone. If it's for us, I hope we hold him to that 6 week mark, bring him back @HOU on Mar 2. No need for him to help us against Philly or Minnesota that week before.

Glad we are shutting down Reke as well. We need him healthy enough to pass a physical by the draft. If we are tanking, better to have him hurt on our roster than replaced by a Jeff Teague that would play!

Now we get to see Dell trade away anything he can at any cost just to attempt to save the season instead of doing what we all know is best.

I don't think anyone was expecting Tyreke to come back and us go on a championship run

shouldn't we have to give something valuable in that unlikely trade scenario?

This is a much bigger issue than Tyreke for sure. Gordon supposedly didn't do treatment like a petulant child because we matched Phoenix's offer, but the other 3 all show an organization willing to risk long term health for short term gain. I know that the Pels did get a new trainer recently, but I'm starting to wonder if a guy that spent decades across campus steeped in Football's warrior mentality is helping things. Gentry talked about how when he was in Phoenix the training staff had the ability to fine players for not doing treatment, as much as we've ragged on the medical staff here, maybe the problem is they need to be given more power. Especially as technology enables us to quantify physical conditions more and more.

Cleveland is interested so maybe not. Hell we gave up a first round pick for him.
