We would easily be top 2 in the west

We’d be better but nowhere close to a top 2 seed

Not a single team in the west we couldn’t beat by 10+ with a better coach

We’d likely be filthy with a mid coach.

I don’t know what Willie does tbh, much less what he does well. Rotations suck. We don’t have any semblance of an identity. We’re atrocious in the clutch. Our plays suck. Our challenges are used terribly. There’s no emotion from him. He doesn’t stand up for our guys.

We gotta run this dude out of town before he squanders the most talent we’ll ever have on a basketball court in this city.

Well who should we replace him with? Not the easiest job to get a coach to come here

Do you seriously not understand coach scouting as a concept? Small markets nearly never snag previous head coaches.

We may be the only team in the league that is worse when the coach has an oppurtunity to talk to his players lol

The team's last coach was a 'previous head coach.'

I’m convinced most of this board doesn’t watch other NBA teams when they say shite like this. We don’t have the top end talent of the Thunder, Twolves, Nuggets, or Clippers.

We’d probably have 1-2 extra wins and be a solid 5th in the West right now if Willie could figure out how to manage a rotation.

I was a staunch Willie defender going into the season. Holy shite this guy needs to be fired yesterday. I would fire him solely based on the amount of minutes wasted on Naji. I am begging Griff to trade Naji to save Willie from himself

Holy crap, lots of criticism with
vague or non-existent specifics.

In recent games, Green has done a good job, especially when vital players are unavailable.

Willie is a good coach. He's 105-107 with Zion being out for damn near 2 full seasons of his 3, and Ingram missing significant time. And he's going to be over .500 overall when the season is over.

Hes got flaws, he's slow to adjust, and his rotations are bad, but to say he's not a good coach is crazy. He's going to get the rest of this season before any type of decision is made about his future.

And he's adjusting, albeit slowly, but he is making adjustments mid game. Deliberately playing through Jonas last game and subbing Jose this past game are great examples of that.

I know there's a lot that goes into coaching but I have a hard time giving Willie credit for doing things that work two months after idiots on this site see what's obvious.

Examples:

Continuing to play Graham
Continuing to force BI iso to end games
Keeping Hawk glued to the bench
Playing Naji over Jose
Sticking Zion on thr corner
Falling to take advantage of Jonas mismatches
Failing to put shooters around Zion in the rotations

Does it really take a good coach to not fix obvious things?

Your listing a lot of flaws I agree with, except for the Zion part.

If my star player doesn't show up right and needs breaks and can't play more than 30 mins a game, I'm not running the offense through him all the time either.

Hes turned this team into a very good defensive team (something we've lacked greatly at since Monty), and had the foresight to keep starting Herb as a rookie.

There's bad coaching decisions, don't get me wrong, but Willie just hasn't had consistent health from his top players to really prove that he's not the answer.

All we can hope is Willie gets better. We aren’t getting a new coach or GM or trading BI unless there is a serious collapse. Any playoff appearance or play in game will only enhance their position. This organization likes mediocrity.

There is a modicum of optimism with that.

Willie is changing his rotations a lot, we just a lot of naji because he wants switchable 1-5 wing players out there and Herb has been out these past two games, which only magnifies that error.
