not really. if BR stepped up the OKC thing might not have become permanent. And when the OKC thing became permanent we WOULD have lost the Hornets if not for Stern saving our arse.
The Pmac could have been packed every night for the Hornets and they still woulda been in OKC. Stern needed a guinea pig to see if that city could really support a team. He was going to move a d-league team there for a season but then Katrina happened and the homeless hornets fell into his lap.
There's that and you act as if BR wasn't affected by Katrina at all. Ignorant post all around.

Baton Rouge dropped the ball in regards to support of both the Saints and Hornets. I've never been more disappointed in my fellow Louisianians.

Half of the city wasn't even residing there and the ones that were there had way more important things to do. What about all the New Orleanians that were moved up there? Where the frick where they?

hornets didn't really play a lot here and who want to go to a Saints game the day after watching the important football?

Yeah, the Hornets didn't play any meaningful games in Baton Rouge. The Saints came right at the height of Benson's flirting with using Katrina to move the Saints permanently. He was a total shitbag in the situation and fans were understandably pissed. Benson tried to spin it as he's never coming back to Baton Rouge, but there were plenty of New Orleans people there booing him.
Bottom line: somebody teabag MinnesotaTiger. He is epic douche.

It's about time for D-League expansion but they claim they economy sucks right now and they "want to make sure the existing teams are in the right market".
I ran across an article yesterday speculating that the NCAA requirements that start in 2015 forcing students athletes to actually be student athletes could push a lot of talent to the DLeague. Now might be a good time to invest in a DLeague team, but it probably won't be until the next lockout/strike in 2017 that they add rules to make it really useful. Currently even if you own a team that doesn't give you exclusive rights to the players playing on it.

sorry that your hometown sucks balls and that the majority of "quality" people who live there have more of an affinity to Dallas than to New Orleans. Yuppies and $65,000 millionaires abound.
only good thing about BR is LSU.

Sounds like your broke arse can only afford to hang out at chain restaurants. Haters gone hate. Get this man some sexual lubricant and take that barstool from him. His butthurt has crept up his spine.

What in that post indicates that I'm looking up at those wannabe texans? I'm looking down on them from my condo in a real city, brah.
And I never eat at chain restaurants.

We really should take the NO/BR stuff to the Food Board where it belongs, but I've always liked the fact that there is free parking nearly everywhere you want to go. And as much as people hate on chains, there are a pretty good number of dining options for a city it's size. BR may not have culture coming out of it's arse like NO, but it's not as terrible as it's often made out to be.

Okay, Souljah. We're all impressed. I bet prostitutes love you.

I just hate how everybody in BR has this white yuppie snobbery as they espouse their ultra-conservative christian values over lunch at macaroni grill. reminds me of birmingham, frisco texas and other shitty places where culture goes to die. suburban living in cookie cutter homes all mass produced and designed by the same developer
but agreed this belongs on another board. blame that dude for seriously suggesting a D league team be put in Baton Rouge.

If you can't find a good, original restaurant in Baton Rouge, you are a moron. This is also coming from a guy from the Twin Cities. What the frick does he know about good food?

I thought you didn't do chains. I guess you just can't pass up those Olive Garden lunch specials, can you?
