I wonder how many ads the department of tourism bought in their publications.

And they spend half the blurb talking about beer. The only food mentioned is a lobster roll (not fresh) and mac & cheese. Really setting the bar high there...

blame that dude for seriously suggesting a D league team be put in Baton Rouge.

That would be a bad idea. They wouldn't sell any tickets when LSU was good at basketball and they would probably cannibalize as many Hornets tickets as they generated. Using a DLeague team to market to the gulf coast is definitely a better idea IMO.

Seriously, great find. This is like asking the school for the deaf to rate bands.

I actually agree with this. It's actually relevant to the OP. I do think it would be nice to have an affiliated team. The Redneck Riviera would probably work better.

I think Mobile or Biloxi would both be great for this. Both have decent arenas, I believe. Both are in the New Orleans market(much closer to NO than Orlando or Atlanta).

If it was a true farm team(where they formed up the remaining of the summer league team, etc) it would help increase the fanbase of the team.

It would be good to increase the fanbase in Mississippi but I was thinking that Lafayette might be a bit more realistic / reachable. Maybe not though maybe they'd be equally good.

Yes and give it to Drew Brees as an extra signing bonus. But he needs to sign Brees 1st

I think he should look to do this before the lease is up, should this all work out, in 2024. My order for locales:

Biloxi
Lafayette
Mobile
Jackson
Baton Rouge

BR low just because of the large NCAA presence in both men's and women's basketball. Not a BR shot.

This would defeat the purpose of marketing, but the Hornets could always house a D-League team in their future practice facility. The L.A. D-Fenders play at the Lakers training facility in El Segundo. I don't think anyone goes (although I think you can if you wanted to) b/c the Lakers don't own the D-Fenders to make a profit. However the people who do go obviously get courtside seats.
