Multiple former Saints and Pels are going hard at them on social media apparently.

My only question would be, who was the idiot that hired the same doctors for two completely different sports? Basketball injuries and football injuries are completely different! Benson needs to open up that checkbook and hire separate medical staffs if he wants to keep the players healthy.

East and West Jefferson are arguably better hospitals at this point. Too bad they can't be sponsors, but couldn't the team still keep one of their doctors on retainer for second opinions?

Gentleman Jack apparently posted a Tweet laughing his arse off after this was made public.
I'm guessing he didn't have a good experience on his return to the team last season.

Many people will say it, ochsner may be the largest but they are not the best.

I think pondexter is the smoking gun on the pels side, not so much Gordon or holiday or Evans. All 3 of those guys either were hurt when they came here or had an injury history
pondexter fricking drops off the face of the earth for 2 years, without even a sighting or a mention...just ghosted. clearly there's weird doings afoot there and I hope we get the real story at some point

Kushner has indicated several times that he knows the story or at least part of it and it is a long and crazy saga...but he thinks QPon should be the one to talk about it not him.

Source: The #Saints decision to fire Dr. Misty Suri does not indicate an action taken by the #Pelicans. No formal decision reached.
Suri was recently promoted to #Pelicans director of medical services, and most sources said he is well regarded in the organization.
The takeaway is Sean Payton's decision regarding medical staff doesn't necessarily affect what the #Pelicans will do.

Clarification on my tweets from earlier: Deryk Jones never worked with the #Pelicans, but Misty Suri started working with the team last year
So the doctor that Keenan Lewis said was a problem, Deryk Jones, never worked with the Pels. The doctor that worked his way through med school as a stripper, Misty Suri, is relatively new. Since he was promoted in the last year I think we can assume that the doctor who had presided over a terrible 2 year injury marred stretch was different and has also been removed. I don' think last year's positive injury results were just reverting to the mean after 2 really bad years. They XRayed AD every time someone looked at him funny and it seemed to help keep him on the court.
I'm not saying it's all good, but we really don't have any evidence saying Suri is part of the problem if they do let him stay.

The way I read Keenan's tweet was that Suri should NOT be lumped in with Jones. I took that Keenan actually respected him otherwise why would he include Suri in a positive light in the tweet

That's what he said. Sorry if I wasn't being clear, I edited what I wrote for clarification.

In 2015-16, the year before Misty Suri was a Pelicans physician, the Pelicans medical and training staff was:
Scott Montgomery, MD - Head team physician.
Matthew McQueen, MD:
Duane Brooks, head athletic trainer:
Todd Hooks, assistant athletic trainer:
Jared Lewis, physical therapist:

There are most likely two different contracts. The corporate sponsorahip contract requires Ochsner pay the Pelicans/Saints. The medical staff contract is different and probably works like every other team hiring medical staff, the team's pay the system or providers. Payton has alluded to this much by saying there is no requirement for the team to use Ochsner doctors. BUT because it would look terrible to Ochsner to have the team choose other docs, it's likely the Saints/Pelicans paid little to nothing for the med staff and Ochsner takes the hit and pays the docs directly.
But now that's exactly what will happen, the team is likely to look outside for doctors. Payton will correctly defend the team and refuse Ochsner orthopedists. Ochsner will do everything it can to try and prevent this, maybe including making a showing of firing the doctors and releasing a statement on Ochsner's commitments to blah blah blah blah.
So there's better understanding of how the hiring of medical staff goes, the team of course wants the best doctors but can only hire whoever wants to work for the team. Sometimes, a team's first choice of doctor will refuse because of the commitments the team requires. These commitments may include, for example, being on site at home games. To you and me, this might sound great to have a first hand view at every game, but this can put a strain in the doctor's lifestyle to have to work games. At least this is how it was explained to me by a doctor who declined a team's offer. This means that the fired docs may not have been the team's first choices. Ultimately this should reflect worse on the individual doctors than Ochsner.

The amount of embarrassing bullshite thats gone on within the Saints/Pelicans organization over the past decade, miraculously wrapped around a Superbowl win, is unbelievable.

You think that's crazy, just wait until AD/DC kills Small Ball on the way to a title with Demps/Gentry at the helm.

fingers crossed
Between LSU football, Saints, and Pelicans, watching Anthony Davis has been the only thing preserving my sports sanity.

Keenan Lewis right now on WWL very rationally and succinctly ethering the Saints.
On top of everything we know, a degenerating hip as a result of mistreatment. Hospitalization from a staph infection that wasn't caught. Payton trying to force him on the field with an injury that clearly wasn't healed, and still isn't. etc etc etc

This is the one of the only times I'm glad the Saints and Pels have the same ownership
I hope they go to Atlanta
