Do you have a time machine and plan to constantly relive 2013-14? If not then your point is irrelevant.

Noel has had multiple issues with his left knee, Jrue broke his leg. There is a huge difference between the two.

Fear is playing a character mocking the kind of fair weather, bandwagon fan he hates, only he's gotten so familiar with the roll that it's hard to tell it's an act, a la Stephen Colbert or Alex P. Keaton.

the only part i'm kind of not joking about is the jrue part

I know he got injured last year so we didn't get to see a full season of him but i'm becoming less and less confident he fits with this team

not a bandwagoner... I've been a STH for years. Unfortunately this year I only have the weekend deal. With having a new born, moving further away from the city and my work schedule there was no way I could make the majority of mid week games

i'm not throwing in the towel on jrue by any means but the possibility does exist we could've taken a pg in the first last year or an elfrid payton in this draft and had a lot of leftover spending money

Is this an issue now with the huge increase in salary cap coming?

Sure. But the Pelicans aren't the only team that benefit from a cap jump.

It just comes down to fit. I like Holiday as a player, just not necessarily in NO. There's only one ball and at least 3 guys that can do more with it than he.

I'm much less concerned what Jrue does offensively than what he does on defense. As long as plays above average on ball defense, the unit as a whole should be very stout. The offense needs to run through AD, Reke and Ryno when he's on the floor.

I don't think it's an issue. Assuming health = playoffs this year (effectively turning the Asik 1st into 2 2nds), would you rather have

Noel + Payton + $15 million in cap space + not ready for playoffs for 2 more years

or

Jrue + Reke + Asik and starting the playoff run this season.

Also, in light of the cap increases, all 4 PGs that signed extensions that year (Curry, Jrue, Lawson and one more I forget) are all on great value contracts now. Jrue should be very tradable if he's a bad fit. But considering how Monty talks about his importance to the defense, I don't think he's going anywhere.
