I just think we still need a serviceable SF to run this machine

Casspi is pretty serviceable, and I think he and Hill kind of compliment each other at that position.

Casspi
guess I just haven't really watched him play. He is shooting 38% from the arc this season so there is that.

I mean how big are we going to go. Can Casspi get up and down the floor?

Only guards on the roster is Jrue, Moore, Frazier and Qpon.

Moore may be the male or break on how the rest of the season goes. He just picked up a lot of minutes. I wish QPon wouldn't have fell of a cliff so hard...

It's pretty glaring we have holes that need to be filled.

We need someone on the B team with either Boogie or Brow when they are splitting minutes.

I'm just spitballing, but it's pretty clear that Jones is the one asset right now we have some leverage with.

We need one more solid move by the front office, but asking for two quality decisions in a row may be asking too much.

He signed like a 2 year deal. He averages a triple double. We would have to trade AD to acquire him

They do complement each other as 3-4 (offensive & defensive oriented small ball 4/large 3 with Casspi in reserve), but we still need to get some 2-3 type depth players who can better keep up with quicker perimeter guys.

ETA - Really strange to compare Hill/Casspi 3 pt % and FT%. Hill is a career .336 3pt & .825 FT (.357/807 this year) and Casspi is a career .368 3pt & .675 FT (.379/.571 this year)

We zeroing in on Morrow?

What's the obsession w Morrow? He's a D league level player. Just go get Hollis Thompson without giving up Jones if Morrow is what we'd get back

This is what I think has to be what we look for with the TJ trade asset

I'm excited to see the different line ups we run. Once AD and D.C. get their groove being on the court at the same time it's going to be fun.

Everyone seems high on Omri, I'm curious to see how he fits in. The 38% 3 helps.

I want no part of morrow, unless OKC is giving us their first, which they wouldn't. Jones and our second, for Morrow and their first would be awesome, but that ain't happening.

Much rather Hollis Thompson.

Yeah, if they can't get someone worth Jones, just get a future asset back and go with Thompson and Cook.

Agreed. See if you can get some 2nds that you can later package to try and dump Ajinca or Asik, or turn into a player.

they have an open roster spot, one that would be filled with a workout player (thompson/quinn/chalmers/whoever). moving jones would create another open spot

jones i dont think is getting you a player
i think he's getting you a fake second/cash which would then be used to get another similar player who happens to already be on an NBA roster

morrow is they type of player you'd get with that, not necessarily (hopefully not) him

as long as its someone that can either or at least causes fits on D

Morrow is neither one of those

I still say take what ever assets and try to package them for something now and not sit on it.

If they wait until after the draft then their 2018 pick becomes available to trade. Right now their 2019 pick is the first pick they can trade, and the 2018 pick in 4 months will have a lot more value than the 2019 pick does today.

you say that now, but what happens when a real fit becomes available later or in june, and the cupboard is bare?

pels have done well so far in not committing future assets. patience (as seen with boogie) can pay dividends

A Jazz blog brought up a Jones for Shelvin Mack swap. Seems to make sense for both teams.

You probably right, we probably get the 8th seed either way, guess it's just my new found excitement talking irrational.

Honestly try and use it to get bad contracts off the books would be the most helpful going forward long term.
