Okay okay hear me out guys. This may not sound like the most desirable trade out there or the most coveted player. However, I believe that the Pelicans should make a play for Jeremy Lin. I know our guard situation is log jammed but I believe that Lin is a solid back up and could provide real depth, since Eric Gordon and Holiday are injury prone. With this being said, a ryan anderson for Jeremy Lin trade would be ldeal for this organization moving forward. Maybe even throwing in Jimmer as a sweetener in the deal??

Jeremy Lin is a Free Agent so you don't need to trade for him, you just need cap space.

There is a move that sends Ryno to Cleveland, Love to LA, and *Role Players* and maybe a high 2nd rounder back to NOLA that just makes sense for all the parties.

We are getting raped by sending out Ryno for a 2nd and a FA we could possibly sign with the MLE like GI suggested.. It's not like dumping Jarrett Jack where we probably couldn't haven't gotten much value and cap space for Lopez was worth more. I would expect Ryno could net at least a late 1st if not a player we could use like Wilson Chandler.

(A) Have you watched Wilson Chandler play the game of Basketball lately? Is that the guy you want on your team? - I'd say HELL NOOO. I value J. Hill above that, He played well even on a crappy, crappy, team. That's just preference though.

(B) is the 36th pick in the NBA draft really that much less valuable than the 29th pick? I'd say recently teams have done better drafting in the high 2nd round than the late 1st round.

(C) You do realize we might lose Ryno in a year anyway right? If he has a good year, probably for nothing.

if the net gain from any Ryan Anderson trade is jeremy fricking Lin then this front office has utterly failed and should be fired on the spot

We don't even need a back up PG anymore

Sign a vet to a cheap deal if you want depth

ETA: I forgot they have douglas signed for vet min next year so never mind.

Watched, not much, but his numbers this year are pretty much in line with his career numbers. He's off his peak efficiency year from 2 years ago, but that was when he was playing 25 MPG off the bench rather than 31 MPG as a starter, so maybe he'd regain some of that form in a reduced role. Chandler might be the best combination of availability and ability for a longer 3 and D wing to time share with QPon.

He's not the top of my wish list, just the minimum kind of return I'd expect for Ryno.

Wasn't thinking about how high the Lakers pick was. But I was thinking more late teens to early 20's as the minimum draft pick return I'd want for Ryno, so #36 is still not really comparable.

After the season he just had you'd be trading low on him right now. If I were to trade him I'd wait until the deadline and hope an offseason of training rather than rehab helps him find his shot again.

Ryan Anderson sign and trade for Greg Monroe.

I disagree with some of that, but that's because I think Ryno won't net you a low teens to 20's draft pick. I think you would be looking at 25 and down.

I watched Wilson Chandler the latter part of the season and he looked like a guy who WAY is on the decline. I think you could get a guy like Dorell Wright with the MLE and get 90% of what Chandler gives you. (That could be because he was on a bad team, but you would need some inside info on that to make sure)

Also to clarify - I in no way, shape, or form want Jeremy Lin. I was thinking of a J. Hill, Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, as some plausible sign and trade, or just trade candidates.

He's a UFA. He won't be signed/traded.

Are you basing that on this year's 34% from 3 Ryan Anderson that shot us out of many road games or the career 38% from 3 Ryan Anderson that was a net positive player? I'm hopeful he can regain form and trading him now would be trading low.

Pretty sure Anderson is getting traded with Asik for Parsons.
