I think it means he's heading to Bourbon St for hookers.

That plan of his to get a "prove it" contract failed miserably.
Makes you wonder if he could have done better backing up AD and Cousins instead of being a nobody in Milwaukee.

I can't fathom how hasn't made a roster. There are worse pf/c than him in the league.

He told a team in the middle of a playoff race, that just acquired one of the better players in the league, "I want to be released so I can show out and benefit myself."
And his play reflects that of a guy only in it for himself.
He is very talented, but these teams aren't stupid. You can only play that game so many times before they realize the minimal talent isn't worth it in the end.

Undrafted Dayton guard Charles Cooke has agreed to a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources tell ESPN.

Charles Cooke highlights:
6'11.5" wingspan
39.8% 3PT% last year
Still, undrafted and on a two-way contract. So, keep expectations LOW.
He was with Minnesota earlier this summer. It seems like the Pels and Wolves have been in on the same players all offseason.

I wanted to sign him after the draft, he will contribute to this team (at the NBA level) one day. I am very familiar with his game (I'm from Dayton), I have watched several of his games live and on TV.

Makes sense...both teams need the same thing. Shooting.

I really don't get it.. There are players left in FA that could be had to fill out the last 1-2 spots on the roster and Demps goes out and does something like this. Go get players who have NBA experience under their belt-not undrafted players who wont see the floor. Just frustrating.

It's for a two-way contract. Guy may never see the floor. Meant for projects.

No, you really don't. This is signing a player to one of the new 2 Way GLeague spots that are intended primarily for developmental players. It has nothing to do with signing FAs to fill out the roster. Do you think they should wait until all the regular roster is filled out before going after the UDFAs so we can be last in line for the 2 way spots too?

The Pels are probably waiting on multiple issues to resolve themselves. Will Pondexter be cleared to play and what will he look like when that happens? Who will blink first before the August 31st deadline on stretching Asik? Which way either situation goes would change who the FA targets are. The only thing really in the Pels favor is the amount of FAs still waiting for a deal is higher than normal at this point.

The league also appears to be in a holding pattern waiting for the Melo & Kyrie dramas to play out.

What can you share about his game?
Posted on 7/31/17 at 12:34 pm to Silverfoxx
He has a well-rounded game, really isn't deficient in any area. He's an ok athlete (think Denzel Valentine). Rebounds and passes well, defense is ok (he has some long arms). He can score in bunches when hot, with slashing moves and a nice 3pt shot. The problem is: when his shot isn't falling, he can get very cold.

Did he? Why isn't Josh Smith in the league anymore? He was only 30 the last time he played. You don't go from star player to out of the league that quickly without a serious injury or the league changes on you. The only thing worse in today's NBA than someone who can't shoot is someone who can't shoot that thinks they can. Terrence Jones was a lot like Smith in his shot selection and shooting from places he shouldn't.
