The person that makes that decision is Mickey Loomis. He's a little busy with his day job right now. For the past 2 years we haven't gotten any clarity on the next step with the Pels (Monty fired 2 years ago and Demps not fired last year after the cancelled press conference) until after Loomis had signed the Saints rookies. That usually happens the 2nd week in May, so maybe May 9th or 10th we'll either hear somebody is getting fired, or we can start assuming nothing will change.

I feel better about the talent on the Pels than I do the Saints. Maybe he should refocus.

Unfortunately, you are 100% correct. Benson and Loomis will do nothing, Demps will blow another offseason and Gentry will f**k up another season.

If the Pels know that Jrue is going to walk as Madison suggests, is that the final nail for Dell?

Blowing the opportunity to get something for Ryno last season, and the realization Demps had thrown away 20 million dollars on shitty big men his prized coach can't use didn't do it, I doubt anything will until AD leaves.
It seems like Benson has resigned to the fact he is going to let a guy he didn't hire, who has continually failed to make good on promises, determine the fate of his newest investment indefinitely.

The draft is in a week or so, then you have to sign everybody, and then get ready for camp and see if you can get some post draft deals.
So... uh, never

Loomis' draft, not Demps' draft. That's probably part of why he always trades away picks, to avoid confusion like this.

should we just revisit this thread next week once the NFL draft is over and upper management can actually pay attention to the NBA team?

Day #20...... watch continues
Posted on 5/2/17 at 8:45 am to tigerbait44
A watched pot never boils. Next Monday or Tuesday after the rookies are signed is when the nothing that's probably going to happen will happen.

If it would happen, when would that most likely be??

Nothing is going to happen.

I now know EXACTLY what Dell offered for Dwight. Man o man wait til I tell you all on the pod. People would've FLIPPED
Eh, not doing the pod for a few weeks so I won't make you wait. That's not cool. Asik, Galloway, Reke, and TWO Firsts for Dwight
I always thought that Lopez was the next target but apparently the Hawks had four offers for Dwight and Pels were by far the leader
[In response to someone asking if the Hawks declined the trade]
No, they were going to take it. Contingent on Pels not landing Boogie
So, thank Vivek for his love of Buddy. Otherwise you would have Dwight at 23 mil coming back next year. No pick and you couldn't trade 18!
What's the point of having Danny Ferry as a consultant if he doesn't tell you that you're over bidding on a deal with the Hawks?
