Yeah don't James Harden and Dwight Howard ignore their "role player" teammates and incessantly hang out

D12 is always hanging out with McDaniels Dmo and Sam Dekker. He's just a great all around guy.

I blame the stupid tats...he was a monster without them. I think the weight of the ink in that Chicago monstrosity is weighing his arm down.

Well KJ is in the D League so I doubt he has been kicking it with him a lot lately

There' still time for change this season, but I think we got rid of the best coach for AD.

AD is a high-flying, athletic version of Tim Duncan (mentality) and should be coached that way.

No one was ever around to show him what a leader looks like. In our playoff runs we had West and CP3 that laid down the law. AD is surrounded by too many negative guys who don't play hard and too many passive guys. Jrue seems too passive like AD. Tyreke seems like a negative influence in that he can be lazy and kind of a party guy. I have always thought Asik has a bad atitude with the way he acted in Houston. AA seems passive and DC/Perkins don't have big enough contracts and playing time to be taken fully seriously. Qpon is good, but we need an alpha leader on this team and I am not sure AD has the personality to ever be that. I also think AD has discovered partying a bit more this year.

Yeah Dwight Howard is such a class act:

LINK

Wouldn't every organization be so lucky to have a leader like that.

1. You can be a superstar player and not be a "leader" (wtf does this even mean and how to you quantify, TIA)

2. If you are going to be this so called leader, you have to have players willing to be led. The guys on our team arent even receptive to coaching and dont even play hard, and you expect them to listen to 22 year old

Of course everyone casts blame on the superstar players when shite is going wrong. This is a roster construction problem, has been since AD has gotten here. These guys are gutless.

If the Pels had a winning record, people would be saying AD was some great leader, because why? Winning, duh. So easy to sling criticism when things are going bad, just like the superlatives flow when the team is winning

Right, and not to mention, the article didn't give any specifics. Just mentioned we're losing, he getes injured, and he's in a small market or something...basically nothing at all tangible about his leadership skills.

Except when you measure it by Finals appearance a 8 years ago, or post season lead in blocks/rebounds. Then it's not intangible.

Pretty much a no brainer that dell needs to go I was surprised to see him keep his job last offseason. Im curious if there are more people who want dell to be GM next year than there were people who wanted monty to keep his job after last season. Gotta be close.

The only thing I can give Dell props for is some of the small moves, like signing Pondexter for example. Cunningham, etc. They are solid bench guys.

But as far as building this team, what a fricking mess. Hired a coach that needs high IQ players, which we are severely lacking. I thought it had high potential at first, but it has turned into a train wreck.

and I agree, AD needs to toughen up. Stop being soft. When this guy plays hungry, he is as good as anyone in the entire NBA. I know he's not a big rah rah guy, but he should still be more vocal. Sky is the limit for him, he could easily end up as the best player in the league. He just has to be a)tougher b)a better leader.

I am hoping this happens. And the organization needs to make sure they put the right pieces around.

Steph Curry is the best player in the world on the best team in the world, and he'd probably be considered the 3rd or 4th "leader" on his team. Why? Because he has a great team with great players and coaching

Funny, Dwight was a "leader" when winning in ORL as the guy. It didnt take him long to go from this great "leader" to a bad attitude player in LA and beyond. James Harden can't be a "leader" and be apathetic on defense.

I agree that results are a good indicator of leadership. When you lead a team to the Finals and can knock off an all time great like lebron and dominate the series all the while being the dominant defensive force in the league..well that's indicative of leadership. When your team is expected to make the playoffs and you're sitting at 12 wins after almost half the season and your performance has fallen off, well that's an indicator of a lack of leadership.

When he laughs and jokes people say he doesn't take the game seriously enough, when he is upset people say he has a bad attitude. No matter what he does people are gonna come up with some reason to diss the man.

Harden is a great leader, HOU has never missed the playoffs since he's been there. How many other players in the league would've lead CC to the playoffs in his first season. 5 at the most and that was his first year as a leader. I'd say he has done a fine job.
