Dyson may or may not become good but I think it's pretty clear he has feel for the game. Great defensive instincts, able to guard up and down the lineup, excellent rebounder for his position.

Just needs to get confident in that shot, maybe work on a floater when he attacks the closeout

I have similar thoughts about dyson, he’s an incredible defender (for being so young) and solid rebounder, but idk that he’ll ever scare you from the perimeter.

He’s had some good moments driving in the lane and I think he has good instincts on the offensive glass. I think our best bet with Dyson is a big slashing guard/wing who can get you 6-7 rebounds a game and make 35% or so of his 3’s. A more athletic Herb? Does anyone else see that?

You never know with Fred though, maybe he can make a shooter out of Dyson yet. I’d like to see how he progresses in his second season. Hopefully he can get into the mix a bit more this coming season

KOC has us taking Noah Clowney in his latest mock. I like clowney but 14 is far too high. I'd rather trade back and get him

There are very few guys projected to go in the mid-teens and twenties that would make me melt, but Noah Clowney is definitely one. I get the upside with his length and defensive versatility, he has a shot to be a great Nance replacement, but he’s not the kind of project I want to take on right now. I want someone who can contribute at least a little next year and the things we need are some of the exact things he struggled with. Last year he shot 29% on catch-and-shoot threes and nearly 40% of his drives to the basket ended in turnovers.

He may figure it out and end up being a switchable stretch big that can play the 4 or 5, but it won’t be for at least 3 years.

the most Griff thing imaginable. Turning down getting scoot or a shooter at 14 and getting a project big

I think he's derrick white. White had his best shooting season this year but has been a below average shooter every other year of his career. However he is a great defender, passer and rebounder. If dyson can turn into derrick white that is a very good player that every team wants

Assuming we made no other moves he would get playing time just due to the fact that he would be the only other big on the roster outside JV and nance. Again I like clowney if we were drafting in the 20s but not at 14.

Derrick White at 6'7" is an excellent player.

Yeah and white came into the league as at 23. I have a lot of dyson stock. I think he'll be a really good player

NEWS: Marquette's Olivier-Maxence Prosper has received a green room invite to attend the NBA Draft with his family on June 22nd, a source told ESPN. Prosper, now ranked No. 20 in the ESPN mock draft, has seen his stock skyrocket in the pre-draft process.

This is interesting. If he's receiving a green room invite good chance he's going higher than projected.

A lot mocks have him solidly in the first round for some time now. Think he's around 18-21 in quite a few mocks.

NBAdraft.net's comparison is Lou Amundson which is certainly...something

People are hoping he's the next OG Anunoby. They got very similar bodies. He improved every year in college and is apparently crushing workouts

Have there been any reports who we are bringing in for 2nd workouts?

If not, seems like we might be in on flipping pick 14 for a vet or in the package for Scoot.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they are just flying under the radar with everyone focused on a potential BI/Zion trade.

Dame has made it clear that he wants to compete for a championship and he wants to continue and he wants a roster that can get him there. Griff better try to take advantage of this and get both scoot and sharpe

Portland is perfectly setup to kickoff a rebuild. Scoot, sharpe, simons, plus whatever they would get from dealing dame. They are beyond stupid if they don't go down that path.

On the other hand, yeah griff needs to fleece them

Just curious do you keep Sharpe or flip him? Seems like we would have an abundance of guards. Also any trade for Zion will likely bring back Simons too right for salary purposes?

You keep sharpe. That kid has IT. They could send back simons or nurkic plus other salary filler. If they send us sharpe(which i doubt) then i don' think they'd also send simons

I agree but I’ve also heard pelicans weren’t high on sharpe and you’re already getting Scoot to develop. To me Simons immediately provides you elite shooting as well, matches better with Scoot.
