Blaming the lack of fouling on the players failure to execute is exhibit A. I know there's a lack of practice time in the NBA, but surely end of game situations are worked on as much in the NBA as 2 minute drills are in the NFL.

AD specifically backed up Monty on that one.

Every year with Monty as coach is one year of him getting closer to AD and one more year wasted on the AD contention time span. When you have him through 2019-2020, it'd be nice to see big picture thinking and not waste 20% of your remaining time with someone who is obviously not going to get us where we need to be in time for big contract #2.

Winning cures all

The GS players loved Marc Jackson, but they seem pretty happy right now.

Anyone heard of any sharp assistants that are next to make the jump?

Any Kerr situations?

Did he say they practice it a lot? Cole said the blame was with the players, but players accepting the blame doesn't mean they couldn't have been better prepared.

Ron Adams is one of the best assistants out there but he's been coaching for 46 years, been an NBA assistant a very long time, and never gotten a head job. Maybe he's just a great assistant coach?

I don't know how Adams will do, but that's exactly what they were saying about Thibs before he got the gig in Chicago. I wonder if Adams would be a better fit for the Pels than Thibs. The Thibs defensive background combined with all the offense he saw this year in Golden State.

I'd be willing to take a chance on a coach like him. He's an elite assistant.

Plenty of coaches that made the playoffs have been fired.

That being said I agree that they aren't going to fire him, unfortunately.

David Wesley, if Jason Kidd can get two teams in playoffs why not Wesley?

At this point, I probably wouldn't be against Wesley.

Monty reminds me of Scott Brooks. His elite talent makes him look better than he really is. This team has an all time great in Davis and 4 fringe allstars in Anderson, Evans, Gordon, and Holiday.

I think UVA's Tony Bennett with his defensive coaching abilities would get the Pelicans to 55+ wins easy.

There have been 12 quarters and 1 OT thus far in this series

Pels have won 6 quarters and tied 1 vs the best team in the NBA, 2 games of which were on the road

It's not perfect but in theory this is year 1 of positive growth. Tons of injuries aside. Does anyone want to see what happens next year?

Let Monty start next season pissing away leads and compiling a losing record early, we'll see if the fans show up (which I bet they won't) and how the FO deals with it.

I have ZERO confidence in Monty leading this team any farther than it is right now....it can compete but it can't win.
