I'm not a huge Gentry fan, but shouldn't he get a few more games?

I mean, I get every team has injuries, but the Pelicans have been devastated. All-star break might be too long if it keeps down this road, but damn it hasn't even been 20 games

The coaching staff will probably give him until the all star break to cut ties. This team has enough talent to not be 1-10 or 1-11

Not really.

Of the 240 available minutes in a game, 100+ are being taken by guys who weren't good enough to make a roster as of 3 weeks ago.

The vast majority our our talent is at home or in street clothes.

Seriously look at this roster right now. 4 out of the 10 guys we had available last night (not counting AD) were picked up off the street less than a month ago.

Given the roster I think we should be 3-8 right now at best. Yes, 1-10 is worse than 3-8, but would you really have a different opinion of this team if we were 3-8 right now?

Yes. The people making decisions should absolutely wait until at least Jan/Feb to evaluate things. But if they didn't beat Denver or New York, who can they beat? Is the team capable of coming back and making the playoffs from a 7-15 start if they have reasonably good health after the first week of December? Yes. Are they capable of coming back from a 3-19 start? Probably not, and at this point 3-19 is looking kind of iffy.

Denver gave us fits last year even with AD... This team is not 12 deep to offset injuries and restrictions to that many guys, we're 8 deep on a good night and that's counting players who are pretty average thus far.

The team has never had injuries before. All guys were healthy, all the time.

In all seriousness, yes he does deserve more time, but I still think he sucks.

I'm not as down on Demps as some are, but it is ridiculous that we haven't put a starting caliber SF on the court since Ariza was here.

Even if we disregard whether or not the player is even good, we have nobody even with the right body type, to guard long wings

I started thinking of where Gentry is at after today's news of Houston firing McHale.

Do people understand that the odds of firing a coach in the first year of a 4 year deal, while you are still paying the old coach are like 1 in 2 billion?

The team can go 1-81 and they won't fire him. I am sure the intelligent people know this, but just leaving it here for all the noobs on the board lately.

That I wish would go elsewhere BTW

agreed, it would be a lot different if we had all of our players healthy and we only had 1 win.
