How much is Will Barton going to command?

I have really liked how his game has evolved the past few seasons. I can really see him thriving in this offense. Also being in Denver with coach Finch- you would think he would be running some very similar sets/offenses that he ran in Denver with the Pelicans.

Barton would be the ideal 6th man for this offense but at the right price.

When he is a FA in the future or on the trade market now?

I believe they've even asking for a first for him. He would definitely be a valuable wing player for this team.

Would you rather trade a protected 1st for Rubio or Barton?

Or would you hold onto it and hope to make a bigger move.

He opted out of his contract with the nuggets. I think he was getting around 3-4 a year and so he's looking for a big contract, but at the right price he would be perfect IMO. He's got an edge to him that would be able to be controlled if put in the right spot.

I wouldn't be on board to paying him 10-12 mill a year which is what he'll prob get if not more but if for some reason we did get him I wouldn't be opposed..

He didn't t opt out, he declined an extension. He's still on the Nuggets for the 17-18 season.

Rubio, I think he could strive in this offense.

Denver has over valued their guys for several years. I'd wait for the trade deadline when instead of needing a 1st you can probably get him for 2nds.

A hard no on both accounts.

He will get much more than that. Look what Deng and Solomon Hill got. He's better than both.

I'd be surprised if he gets less than 15-17 mil, but he isn't a free agent for another year anyway.

Yeah 15-17 or more is too much for this team to pay. He could get that in philly or something but not if he's trying to win.

He's 26, he'll be looking for $$& and lots of it.

I liked his game in Portland. He could always put his head down and drive to the hoop. I could see them that he'd end up being a solid bench player at the time when he was in Portland. As his jumper has improved so has his minutes.

His shooting has dramatically improved in the past few years to the point he can probably become a good starter. Knowing that, I'd say he's in the mid-to-high teens millions annually.

My guess is, he gets 5 years/$80-85 million.

Is he worth it? He's only 26. He can be a core building block over the next 5 years. I say yes.

I could be totally wrong but we can't trade 2018 first round pick because we already traded our 2017 pick?

You are both right and wrong. The Stepian Rule prohibits teams from trading consecutive "future" picks. It would have been illegal to trade our 2013 and 2014 1sts for Jrue Holiday. But after using our 2013 pick on Nerlens Noel, the 2013 1st was no longer a future pick which unlocked our ability to trade the 2014 pick. So once the 2017 draft happens our 2018 pick is on the table as a tradeable asset.

And sometimes, it gets circumvented by allowing pick swaps (what Brooklyn and Boston had done).
