I've taken mental acuity tests on computers. They probably asked him various questions to measure his mental health. Maybe asked some simple mathematics based problems or something to measure his logic centers. Could even show flashes and pictures and hooked him up to measure his blood pressure/brain activity and recorded it with a camera to make sure he's mentally healthy and has responses to whay they want him to have responses to. My hypothesis.

Maybe houston should habe done this with royce white.

Eta: things other than "put ball in basket" seem to be important to some.

McLemore makes no sense whatsoever for Cleveland, but they may go with the "acquire talent" model.
I think he'd be a great for Cleveland a couple years down the line playing next to Irving, because of his spot up shooting.

Would enable them to bring Waiters off the bench as a scoring 6th man too, which he's probably better suited for.

He's still riding the reputation he built as a 19 year old going against 16 year olds....

I know some people downplay the lying about his age, but the difference in 19 and 17 is huge as far as physical development. It's a huge red flag for me.

I heard them saying good things about Caldwell-Pope while I was home for lunch. Maybe as high as late lottery?

How did he look today?

Excellent

Otto Porter has interviewed with Charlotte, Phoenix and OKC. Says he looks at Cleveland, Phoenix and Orlando as being the best fit.

Pels need to talk to him, IMO. He is my #2 after McLemore.

I applaud him for participating, but he just isn't that high on my list. Maybe if the Pels get screwed in the lotto and end up 6-8 then take a look at him, but not with a top 5 pick.

Considering he's listed at 6-5 and is probably shorter than that, I doubt it.

I don't necessarily agree. I think people are overvaluing Porter for the fit. The guy has significant flaws in his game: no left hand, lack or lateral quickness, explosiveness, and his ball-handling is fairly limited. He seems like a less-skilled Tayshaun Prince in my opinion.

I disagree, He's a ok player with a solid floor but a low ceiling.
I would rather us take another position with the kind of small forward class coming in '14.

Which means it is a good thing that Rudy Gobert looks amazing, as it raises the chances that there are at least 6 players worth a shite at the top of the draft.

I'm not sure we've reached the depths of the 2000 draft yet, as I think there will be better players than Kenyon Martin, Jamaal Magloire, and Michael Redd somewhere in this draft.

You raise some fair points, but I think you can punch holes in the game of literally every player in this draft. McLemore is passive (and interviews poorly ). Noel is skinny, injured and has no offense. Oladipo is an athlete, not a basketball player, he is a bad ball handler who turns it over too often. Shabazz is selfish, turnover prone, and has character concerns. Bennett doesn't really fit any position and is too small to guard PFs and too slow to guard SFs. Burke is undersized, not a great athlete, and a defensive liability.

Among the choice of flawed players I'd take McLemore then Porter. I think McLemore (and Noel) have the highest upside. Porter has a limited upside, but I also think he has a high floor and that he will be a solid contributor. Plus he plays the position of greatest need. Arguments can be made for and against a bunch of guys. I just hope whoever the Pels take ends up helping them.

Add: Porter has no left hand, lack lateral movement.

That may be the case but every pick could be taken apart like that.

I think shittiness of this draft has gone a little overboard. Porter has his flaws, but MKG went 2nd overall in a supposedly strong draft. That guy has absolutely no offensive skill thats even above average.
Beal went 3rd overall. I've said it before but Ben Mclemore is a Beal clone except he actually has the explosiveness that Beal lacks.

A couple years from now i dont think this draft will look as bad as people think.

There's no clear 1st overall pick but i like Noel, Mclemore, Oladipo, Burke, Porter, and Mccollum a lot. Thats not all that different from the ammount of guys i liked last year. I was DREADING ending up with the 2nd pick and taking MKG

You have an opinion on Gobert? I keep trying to figure out how he isn't rated higher. His highlight reels are only dunks, blocks and boards, but he looks like a man amongst boys doing it and that shouldn't change much in the NBA because of how big and athletic he is.

Didn't Chad Ford or one of those guys say that Gobert was doing that against 2nd level French competition?
