Curious about Hield and the leadership/etc-

People bring up Reddick. Is Hield likely going to be that different from Eric Gordon of the past 2 years?

Don't get me wrong, that's a nice player and on his rookie deal, certainly useful. But not sure why fans would be willing to die on that hill

Which is also two of Hield's knocks, except he's 22.
You seem to be generalizing a lot. Hield is a much better athlete than Murray and light years better defender. Hield is not a bad defender at all. Murray is borderline terrible and has a very small wingspan.

Would you not want Gordon before the injury issues?

And I don't understand how people don't love Murray. He is so clearly a top 3 prospect in this draft in my mind.

Care to explain why or link to an old post explaining?

It's obvious that Simmons and Ingram are 1 and 2 and after that the lines blur a bit. I just don't know if I see how Murray is clearly that much better than Dunn, Hield, Bender, etc.

All I have to say is that the most important aspect of basketball is being able to PUT THE BALL IN THE BASKET, and Hield and Murray are the best two players in our pick range that can do that. Hope we get one.

Your welcome. Hope we don't waste our pick on Brown or Dunn because we will continue to get blown out in games 104-79 because no one could make a jump shot.

Sounds like you are generalizing, mate. Neither guy performed athletic tests at the combine, so I need to see the data on what makes Hield a "much better" athlete. Also, how are you quantifying defense and how is Hield "light years better"? Even so, one being better than the other doesn't absolve either from being average athletically or poor defenders. When you factor in one is 3 years younger and then compare games... Eh

As for Murrays's wingspan - he's projected as more of a combo guard, playing more with the ball in his hands. His measurements are above average of the NBA PG

When people talk about Murray and his "lack of athleticism", they act like he is a slog. His testing numbers are better than CJ McCollum, for instance - who had a pretty good year. And I see Murray as a better all around scorer than CJ. I also think he can be an all-time great shooter. Like, Klay level; A notch below Steph.

Will he ever be a good defender? I don't think so. But if you are that great offensively, you can get away with it. See: Lillard and Kyrie. And I think he will be that big of a weapon. McCollum just put up 21ppg this year and I think Murray is simply going to be better

Jaylen Brown, 6'7" freshman forward, California: "Biggest mystery in the draft. What does he do? He's an average ballhandler. He's a below average shooter. In AAU and college he played bully ball, but that doesn't translate to the NBA. Little bit of a funky personality. I don't know that anybody really knows what makes that kid tick. His basketball IQ is lacking. Special physical specimen and athlete. The trouble is when you make him go multiple directions. His last month and a half was awful. Makes me really nervous."

So he is Julian Wright?

I dont know who Julias Wright is, but Julian Wright didn't turn out great.

That said, Wright's biggest issue was that he just wasn't a very bright kid and he didn't love the game. I don't think Brown will have the same issues, but I wouldn't take him in the top 10. Maybe not the top 15.

Wright never had those question marks as a prospect. Every indication the year he declared was that he loved the game.
