Thinking about the likely frontcourts in our division:
Duncan/LMA
Gasol/ZBo
Howard/Smoove
Jordan/Dirk

who does Ryno defend if those are the opponent's front court while he's in the game? Maybe the best idea is to deal Ryno for wing help and keep Asik at the 5, then use the MLE for help at the 4.

If Erman could even teach Ajinca to screen without fouling, he'd be so worth the money.

Maybe playing in Gentry's offense, the refs will let him get away with it now. Hell, Bogut and Green got away with far more egregious illegal screens than Ajinca gets called for.

I wonder if Erman can fix Ajinca

I understand he works on old Peugeots on the weekends, so probably.

Curry talked about learning some spin technique to get through the pick from Erman. Erman supposedly tricked Klay into working harder on his defense. Ajinca's biggest flaws can be improved with coaching and technique, so I kind of have high hopes that he can learn to box out and not foul.

He doesn't get way with it because he looks like a goofy moron doing it.

Biyombo is a guy I have no idea how much he'll get paid. He's never really panned out into much. In years past I would say he's a BAE guy. Now I have no idea.

I think he would excel at C by committee with AA. You have both an offensive and defensive minded big man. You get superior rim protection, athleticism, and energy with Biyombo over Asik, but lose out on rebounds. Signing AA and Biyombo over Asik also gives you max flexibility as either contract will be easy to move.

I've re watched that series again and its really tough for me to keep my eyes off how dirty Bogut is.

Not just grabby stuff, but sneaky stuff to try to hurt guys.

Hmmm. While I admire his improvement, I'm not a big fan of Ajinca's game. I don't really want him as 4th big for $5M/year. We'll see what happens.

If that's the case, I don't see why you don't use Asik in a S&T, then use the MLE to sign a more defensive minded big. Let Ajinca/MLE center split ~35mpg based on match up and give AD the end-of-half minutes at center.

I've looked into this. Who wants Asik, and which one of those doesn't have cap space to sign him outright? the list of teams that would actually want him, and have something to give back is very very minimal.

It would have to be a multi-team deal, but still there probably aren't many options. Should be simpler to just bring Asik back and go for broke next summer.

Frenchy's fouls make me laugh. The 20 mil is worth the comic relief alone.

So I'm thinking about big man rotations. We assume that AD is going to end a lot of games at Center. I'm curious to see he minutes distribution if we resign Asik.

With the adjusted cap, it's really not a bad deal. He just needs to improve defensively.

Michael McNamara ?@McNamara247 1h1 hour ago
For those having a hard time with new cap:

This would have been the equivalent of Ajinca signing a 4 yr/12.3 mil contract 4 yrs ago

Michael McNamara ?@McNamara247 1h1 hour ago
Ajinca's deal in yrs 3 and 4 will be equivalent to about 2.8 mil last year with regard to its proportion to the cap
