Thats a good deal with the cap rising... but we could have used on a wing no? Is that the MLE gone?

I don't know. I kind of wanted to go with the max flexibility option next season. I would be more OK with the move if we ended up letting Asik walk or used him in a S&T.

No, we had Early Bird Rights on him that were roughly equivalent to the MLE.

Don't we have early bird rights to Alexis, therefore, allowing our exceptions to stay intact?

Damn. Interesting.

Do we have his bird rights? Shouldn't effect MLE/BAE.

So if he's getting 20, I'm assuming that Asik gets 40.

We had his Bird Rights, so we didn't need an exception to sign him.

Yes, all this means is that we are operating above the cap now, although we pretty much knew that.

Every time I watch him run down the court I'm dreading his leg snapping in 2 in gruesome fashion. If I'm the right (or wrong, I suppose) kind of high it's literally all I can focus on is willing his freak ostrich legs to stay intact and not shatter into 2 grotesque, bloody, sharp-white bone fragments sticking out of his flesh pieces.

Ehhhhh. This is a 5 mill a season deal, and I'd be willing to bet there is some Options in there. I think the intention is to bring Asik back as well.

Big news for #Pelicans. Gentry was very high on Ajinca.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ajinca improved enough to be tradeable on that deal. He admitted he didn't try on his first tour of duty and last year was the first time he had worked out with his own team over the summer. Part of Erman's reputation is built on giving players technique help. If Ajinca can cut down his fouls and learn to box out, $5 million will be a bargain.

Well Ajinca is very long and he is actually an exceptional offensive player for that money. He can really score. Just not the greatest rebounder and he cannot stay on the floor because of fouls.

I'm interested to see what Gentry has in store for him.
