I'd probably say Jimi Hendrix

Hendrix, it isn't just what he could do, even though he could do it all.
He has that mysterious aura about him that is unmatched, like he wasn't even trying but just naturally played in a way that struck at your soul. I am way to young to have ever seen him but it is so evident in his recordings and few videos that I feel like I am there every time I listen to him.

Ask me tomorrow and the answer might be different. For now, I'll say Jeff Beck.
Reason: he created a style of play that is completely unique. He makes the guitar sound like someone singing. With his simultaneous control of the strings, volume knob and whammy bar, he can add little nuances to every note. Clapton said it's as if he pulls the notes out of the guitar and if you've ever seen him play, that's what it looks like too.

Band- Aerosmith
That's just the type of music I really liked wen I was younger. Hard, bluesey, but still kind of light hearted.
Individual- Elvis
He flipped the script. Changed everything. Perhaps the greatest stage performer of all time. Before there was Elvis, there was nothing.

John Frusciante - The guy is a genius and understands music at a very high level. He seems like a nice guy and has put out some great solo albums.
