My REM "Murmur" is brown and see-thru. "Reckoning" that is purple. I have a yellow 45 of Dinosaur Jr's version of "Just Like Heaven" My "Bug" album is green. Elvis' "Moody Blue" is blue (got that from my Grandmother). Also have a greenish Camper Van Beethoven's "telephone Free Landslide Victory" and a white Nirvana "Bleach". Replacements "stink" that is red. smith's "Queen is Dead" is kind of clear. A Nick Cave "let Love In" that is gray.
Didn't think much about these records until my son and his friends were going through my records and had a fit. Turns out they are worth a lot of $$. I don't want to part with mine but maybe some of you do...
I never meant to collect colored vinyl - hung out w a group of guys that worked in a record shop in the 80's - they were always giving me stuff...

Also have this. Not sure how rare it is.
No Rocky Top, so that tells me it's pre 1972. Running thru the T on back, so it's post 1963. So somewhere between 1964-1971

Where to start...?

I have a bunch of rarities and short run LPs. Most of my rarities are the original Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab or CBS Mastersounds or Nautilus SuperDisc pressings of albums.

What comes to mind now...

Purple Rain on lavender colored vinyl

Pink Floyd -DSOTM on original Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) Ultra High Quality Recording (UHQR)--this is not the normal MoFi release but the UHQR--very limited.

I have about 5 Original Beatles LPs on MFSL.

Widespread Panic--Space Wrangler--original vinyl LP on Landslide Records (1987) out of Athens, Ga--only 1000 pressed. Was finally re released last year.

Every limited LP that Phish has released.

I have a massive New Orleans R&B collection of 45rpm (probably 1500 or so) that I have inherited from my dad. His music collection was purchased by him in the '50's and '60's (now you know where my audio bug comes from!) and was treated with white gloves for the last 60 years. There are some true gems in there. He actually created spreadsheets in the early '90's to keep track of it all.

I will add more as I think of them...

Wow! That is awesome!
My dad's youngest brother was a "hippie" - I remember him having some incredible albums - No telling where they are now; which is sad.
You are lucky your dad held onto his and passed them down.
One iof my record store friends wanted to buy all my albums a few years ago (probably 20). So glad I didn't, my son really gets a kick out of those records.

There's no telling how rare any I have are. I've never really researched. I have a bunch of 60's/70's rock and country first pressings I got from my dad and grandfather. Off the top of my head I know I have Eat a Peach(with original poster), White Album, Abbey Road, Pink Floyd Animals. I have a Doc Watson LP that a friend of mine went apeshit over when he saw it in my collection, along with a Tom T. Hall record.

Most of them probably aren't that rare, and some are pretty beat up, so no idea their worth.

Probably, an unopened copy of White Zombie's "Soul Crusher" ('87)... back when they were more of a noise band, before the sound that gained them their popularity...

Numero Group is re-releasing all their stuff in the future, though...
