I remember when this cd came out, I think I was in middle school. I remember everybody being pissed because they got their haircut.

the other day I was thinking about "Bleeding Me" from that album, so I got on Amazon hoping just to purchase the song. I had to buy the whole album, couldn't purchase just the song. And I have been listening to it over and over. Damn good cd, I don't care what anybody else says.

It's the Rick Ray of Metallica albums.

Its not the worst thing they've done and it was still better than most new radio rock at the time. I wouldn't say its great though.

At least they realized they were in their 30's and got haircuts. Dudes put out some amazing stuff in the 80's.. They were trying something new and it was a good attempt at an alternative rock, borderline grunge album.

If that's the one with King Nothing, Until it Sleeps and Hero of the Day...it's a solid effort.

I always mix up this and Re-Load

Load is a masterpiece compared to St. Anger, but it's average when comparing it to pre-Black Album Metallica.

yep, that's the one

the other songs on there that weren't singles were all solid too, especially Bleeding Me, which is in my top 5 Metallica songs period.

Absolutely not. Both it and Bleeding Me are fantastic tracks, as are many other tunes on that album.

This album introduced me to Metallica as I was about 14 when Until It Sleeps started up on MTV. I've never been one to compare it to earlier Metallica albums because the musical styles are so different that it's not a fair comparison. Load is the sound of a band trying something different, and succeeding in my view. Load is full of really good to great hard rock songs. Even the "ballads" fit in nicely.

Underrated album and I certainly have no problem trumpeting its greatness.

Bleeding me is awesome. Hero Of The Day is damn good.

Those are the only two I keep in my regular rotation.

My opinion is even more unpopular...St. Anger is their best album.

Bleeding Me is great. To me, the album kind of drops off toward the end with the exception of Outlaw Torn. But overall way better than Reload.

There is some underrated stuff on there, though. Ain't my Bitch is fun and House that Jack Built has that really cool talkbox solo.

...and for whoever said St Anger was their best album We all have our own opinions but that one is wrong

"Great" is pushing it but i agree that it's underrated.
