I heard this. But not the $10. But yeah, no obligation. Hell you payed to have it shipped. They just hang it on the wall. It will fit somebody's eye.

You too.

It's been very entertaining for only a relatively small amount of cash. The year of piddling I got to do for the $400 I spent on my Blueridge was worth it. I'd have blown that $400 on beer anyway. You can't keep drinking the same exact beer forever.

Also, I keep seeing Schecter everywhere? Held a couple in the store. Are they garbage? Appear to be more of a metal style guitar. I am NOT looking for a Floyd Rose bridge. All I see on them are problems discussed online and ways to block them.

I put Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz into my Schecter C-1+ and am quite pleased with the way it sounds. I think you couldn't go wrong with either one of those or a PRS SE. Would recommend either over a Strat. But it depends on the style of music you are playing. The Schecters don't have a floating bridge unless the model number ends with -FR. They have dual humbuckers and a coil tap to get the single coil sound. Greatly prefer the sustain the set neck guitars get over Fenders.

This whole post could be tweaked into a blues or country song. Lol

How about this one? Guy Clark:The Guitar
LINK

Great song, really though, when I am out on the road, and have to wait someplace to pick up a new load or whatever, I drop my trailer and hit the local pawn shops. Found some great deals over the years.

I did borrow that bit about The sleepy little town of Pascagoula, from an old Ray Stevens song too. It's a song about a squirrel getting loose in a church.

So I am getting a definite PRS vibe from what everyone keeps saying.

How are the necks? Chunky or not? I will be heading to guitar center to hold a few in a couple days. Still waiting for my fantasy football check.

ETA. Anybody with experience on Godin Guitars? They are the guys that make Seagull acoustic guitars. So it will be a North American made guitar? They have a nice looking maple neck Strat style guitar? And used they are right in my price point.

I've read some reviews but every review online is glowing. All the time. Is there any reviewers who are honest? I've never seen a "this guitar sucks" review.

I picked up a MIM Telecaster at a pawn shop last week,in Pascagoula,Ms. for 250 dollars, including tax. Pretty much a brand new guitar.

i know a guy that picked up a '74 American Strat at a pawn shop for like $200.
neither him nor the shop knew what hell they was looking at.

he bought it as a first guitar for his young son.
brought it to a guitar guy he knows to set it up.
found out he got a killer deal on a guitar worth somewhere around $2500 by shear accident.

i do know that I prefer a rosewood fret board vs a maple. the maple is too smooth and doesn't seem have the bite rosewood offers.

but i'm new as well to the electrics (been playing acoustic for 25 years)

i'm learning blues and such. a lot of scale work, understanding modes and so on.

I feel like the internet and shows like American Pickers and Pawn Stars have significantly reduced these kinds of instances. Good deals are still out there, but much harder to find as people increasingly know where to find out information about what they have.

I got my Blue Ridge BR-160 for $399 at GC. Felt like I was stealing after leaving once to check online and going back. I had no intention of buying. But could not pass it up. That was the ONE sweet deal I will get. I pounced.

Ready to pull the trigger on an Agile 3010. That is an LP style guitar.

The one I am looking at has "slash Seymour" pickups upgraded. Quick search and they are $200 pickups?

Also comes with a case. That's another $100?

Listen to me selling it to myself.

When comparing pickups, I am at a total loss and am just reading ads for the pickups or glowing reviews on the websites of the pickup sellers.

I don't want to thrash really and don't want to ONLY sound like Slash on Appetite, so somebody please tell me if that is all these pickups can do? I know what Slash-sound is, and I know Seymour Duncan can at times cater to the more metal crowd.

It's getting nitty gritty time. I'm down to Agile, Fender Strat (if I find a good example), or a PRS SE (custom 24 or 245... Probably 245). Those are the three horses in the race.

I like the tail piece on the Agile also. It seems the simplest to a novice like me. I don't want any Floyd Rose tremolos or pain in the arse cheap bridges. The tune-o-matc on a LP or LP style looks simple to me. Sort of like straining an acoustic, which I am very comfortable doing.

I just put a Slash Alnico II set in a PRS Mira (mahogany-bodied semi-hollow) for a good client who plays mostly R&B and jazz and they did the trick for his and my ears perfectly. Alnico II mags are more a vintage versus modern output, and their "power" is more in the realm of warmth, not gain. Don't let the Slash tag bias you, you won't be painting yourself into a high-distortion metal pickup corner by any stretch with Alnico IIs. They are very, very versatile.

Thanks.

And damn you.

Was waiting to be talked out of it. You work on any Agiles? I've read good things and some seem unbiased. The negatives I've read were from people looking for this guitar to be the exact things I'm not looking for it to be.

A hard case and 200 dollar pickup (says Amazon) upgrade are pushing me over the edge.

Thanks again for your input.

Haven't had any Agiles cross the bench, I guess that's saying something good :). I played one probably 10 years ago and it was a good guitar for the money. You hit the nail on the head ... if you're just looking for a decent affordable guitar (not a full LP clone without the price tag), you will probably be pleased with it.

I hope you get the Agile just so you can post a video to the music board of you playing it. I've been on the fence about buying one for years.

That will push you right over the edge to the "not buy" side. The "people" from Rondo (Agile) Music may get a court order for Chicken to remove the video. It will certainly violate some TD Policy...!!

Trying to post pics?

Ignore the cluttered table.

Ok. There are 2. Just Imgur. With and without pickguard.

The pickguard has a bolt underneath I think will scratch.

That's purty. Love the abalone fret markers. How's it play?

I had one follow me home the other day. A Gretsch resonator.

Learning curve. Only been playing with Strat and strat style. Love the thing but got used to the three knob and 3 pickup set up.

Youtube is helping though.

The guitar is great. As you can see the selector got broken but I got warranty so Im just having it changed out as opposed to super glue.

Pickguard question? What is available to reduce marking up the finish? Previous owner took it off. The bolt on the underside sits right on the finish. It will wear a hole eventually. This is not a 1960 Les Paul or anything, so a mark on it is not that big of a deal. but....?
