When I was trying to get hyped up for a big show before heading on stage, I’d often listen to “Whole Lotta Rosie” by ACDC. Angus Young has such crazy energy on stage that I try my best to emulate in short sets (less than 90 minutes).

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” is one of my favorite songs.

The Kinks - All Day and All of the Night. 57 years down the road, it still sounds great and damn near perfect.

I'm not the biggest Motley Crue fan in the world, but even I can admit that "Live Wire" is probably the greatest rock song ever written.

Since there's so many votes for Gimme Shelter I thought I'd drop this unexpected cover here.

I gotta say I love it.

Time by Pink Floyd. Proggy, bluesy, and lyrically perfect.

BOC - (Don’t Fear) The Reaper

Many others too but that’s what popped into my mind pretty quickly.

For a long time I've thought that Gimme Shelter is the finest rock recording ever made. Every aspect of the song—the lyrics, arrangement, performance, and recording is incredible or iconic, including the amazing backing vocals and the tragic story of Merry Clayton's involvement.

Other perfect songs for me:

Wouldn't It Be Nice - The Beach Boys
Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles
Badge - Cream
What is Life - George Harrison
Castles Made of Sand - Jimi Hendrix
Bell Bottom Blues - Derek & the Dominos
Starship Trooper - Yes
Back in the Saddle - Aerosmith
Neon Knights - Black Sabbath
While You See a Chance - Steve Winwood
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Unchained - Van Halen
Black - Pearl Jam
Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart - Stone Temple Pilots
Learn to Fly - Foo Fighters

I'm surprised nobody has said "Hotel California", but that one for me for sure.

Also:
Journey "Separate Ways"
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
AC/DC "You Shook me All Night Long"
Def Leppard "Poor Some Sugar on me"

Yes sir. Classic for me, at least. Yeah it's a bit poppy, true.
