Lenny kravitz was amazing, Joan Baez looked like she knew her songs didn't really do anything and seemed disillusioned and pearl jam was amazing.

But all that was second fiddle to lettermans beard.

I'm getting old.

Grew up with them. Soundtrack to just about everything. I love Led Zepplin but I was probably 9 when Bonham died. Pearl Jam is the horse I hooked my cart to.

Joan Baez was great
Yes was tighter than I thought they'd be and geddy filled in nicely
Alicia keys was the showstopper though

yeah Pearl Jam does nothing for me but they clearly deserve induction
anyone know what the deal was with Steve Perry? Did the rest of them not know he would be there? Why the hell didn't he sing?

My understanding is Steve P. can't hit the notes like he used to so he doesn't try. I wish his replacement would follow suit. I've heard better cover bands do those songs. I'm glad Perry showed he deserved it.

He also had some great bits that didn't make the HBO final cut. Surprised they cut out some of his other comments, but left alone the prostate exam bit

Does pretty much every band who had a hit or two make it into the hall at some point?

Letterman's speech was great.

That was an awesome letter that Ed wrote to his son.

There should be a hip hop HoF

They even cut some of the funniest stuff out for time, along with an extended riffathon with he & Rabin at the end.

It's probably still on youtube but you have to deal with camera phone recordings.
