This is my favorite Prince performance of all time. Brilliant song, brilliant tribute, guitar ripped to shreds I love seeing George Harrison's son Dhani soaking it in as he's playing along while Prince pays a great tribute to his dad.

Darling Nikki is my personal favorite Prince song.

There is also an early Purple Rain version from a concert in Minneapolis that he played right before he hit it big that is spectacularly hard core. I'll try to find it to link. There too much trolling in the other threads.

Prince. Skull fricking a Telecaster and making it sound like a Stratocaster. I'm a guitar nerd but a complete novice, how hard is that to do? Never see anyone do that with a telecaster. There's a sequence where he jumps over about 10 frets in 2 seconds.

He was always so weird that you forgot how much he could wail, until the Purple Rain solo reminded you.

It's really good. Bunch of unreleased stuff Warner Brothers put out. Spans about 10 years I think

Found it. Apparently it's the uncut version that was on the album and was the debut of The Revolution.

Damn another one that I forgot about.

I found this live version of the Beautiful Ones from the fricking George Lopez show. No wonder I hadn't seen it. The chick is fine too

The chick is Misty Copeland, current principal ballerina of the American Ballet Theatre.

That was a great performance by both.

Good catch. I haven't seen her perform live yet, but she is terrific.

I didn't realize that was her. I saw the 60 minutes piece on her but I missed how he gave her a break. That's really awesome.

Prince the blues masterLINK

For anyone who still doubts Prince belongs on the all-time list of great guitarists. Any genre or style of music he made it his. This is a standard blues jam...that he imprints his own style on and elevates to new heights. Totally worthy of Hendrix, and all the others that came after and honored him (including SRV).

Watch til the end.

My favorite song of his is, When You Were Mine...

I guess Cyndi Lauper's cover made it a hit...

Ive always like this cover version, though it may not appeal to all..
