Never at the top of my preferred list, but I do like some of their material. I was in a rental car today with Sirius and passed by the "Pearl Jam" channel. Honestly, everything they played sounded like bootlegged recordings of live shows and musically/vocally sounded like crap.

Are they truly that bad and I am living off of good old days syndrome? In listening to several songs I thought they sucked. Off base here?

I was in my 20s through the 90s and never really cared for Pearl Jam. I never cared for the whole grunge movement at all.

In my mid-30s now and have rediscovered Pearl Jam. They have several great songs. They are a better band in 2012 than they were in 1990. They have some serious chops today that they didn't have then. Watch their Live at MSG DVD. Stone absolutely shreds on several solos. He couldn't play like that in 1997.

They have some good songs but I find myself not liking most of the songs other than their big hits. I was also listening to the Sirius station the other day and found the vocals to be horrible.

They put out a few really good albums. They are fun to see live, and play all of their best stuff. I think they never play the same setlist twice when touring, so that's cool.

Watch the PJ20 documentary (was on netflix instant. may still be). It was a great documentary and gave me a new appreciation for the band.

They've never been one of my favorites... Although I don't hate them. I think it was more that Eddie Vedder got on my nerves...

I do remember listening to them outside of Tips in '91 (show sold out)... Next time they played NOLA it was at UNO.

I wish I could remove their channel from my xm channels.

that's because that's what they are. PJ basically gave blessing to all their bootlegged stuff and because there was so much of it, sirius/XM did a channel. i don't remember the last time i heard an album cut on that station, it's almost all live stuff. on some, the quality is better than others.

i'm a fan. i've seen them play live once and they were great, they sound like their albums when they play live.

This. And their live shows are pretty fun, you never know what you are going to get...always a different set of songs.

I love Pearl Jam. Their most recent album, "Backspacer", is probably their third best album. I think it was a big mistake to give up on them after Vs.

I like Vitology, but pretty much the only album I've really liked since then has been Lost Dogs, which is a collection of B-sides. I don't dislike their post-grunge stuff, I just don't really connect with any of it. It's sort of there for me, other than the occasional single.

Good live band, though. Never lost that.

Yield (1998) just might be the best damn Pearl Jam album there is.

Binaural was just terrible. Such a boring album. That's when I gave up on them. Although their new stuff is better, I still go back and listen to everything before Binaural.

I respect what they stand for, but don't care much for their music. I really tried to get into them and have all of their albums through Yield, but just couldn't do it. I was forcing myself to listen to the albums because I thought that I was missing something if I didn't.

I liked them until they put out the album after Vitalogy.

It sounded like a morbidly obese elderly woman having dirty hate sex with a duck billed platypus.

I haven't heard a song since.
