There are few things worse than a mosh pit, super lame and annoying.

Great show, even with the sound issues. Such amazing musicians!

I had no issues with the sound at all. I pissed off a bunch of hipsters by yelling "frick yeah Jeff!" at one point

The 3 15year olds up front belonged to me. "Dad , it was the best night of my life".

I'm taking her to see La Dispute in London in May and she tells me today "Dad-we have to see NMH instead" because they are playing on the same night.

15 year old girls who like NMH? I can only help my kids will be open to that type of music at 15. You did a good job Dad!

And what's this I hear about moshing at a NMH show? Reminds me of some idiot trying to start a pit at a modest mouse show.

We had to buy a tshirt and tote bag for my GFs 13 yo neice who is obsessed with NMH (since she was turned on to them last year)...

Of course, she has no idea that they are on their way to her via the US Mail, as we speak...

Neutral Milk Hotel has roots in punk rock. At one of Mangum's solo acoustic shows last year people started moshing and he remarked that it reminded him of the early days.

That doesn't make it any less dumb. NMH is not a punk rock band.

NMH is very punk. It's friggin' artistic socialist collective with rotating membership of whoever happened to be around that day of recording. What could be more punk than that? No rules. DIY. Socialism. Crazy people. Weird instruments that shouldn't be on a modern recording.

It's got everything you want in a punk band.

I think there's certainly some punk aspects, I definitely noticed that when paying attention to the drummer, but that doesn't excuse the 40+ year old, balding douchebags who wanted to throw everyone around them to the ground. Sad that you can't get close and enjoy the music when these assholes congregate without worrying about getting hit from a random, flying fist. It was like a 9th grader's Warped Tour show all over again.

Oh, I think moshing douchebags should be killed. I'm just saying, NMH was pretty punk rock.

It looked like the moshing occurred on the right side facing the stage. I parked my arse over on the left side by the more peaceful fans.
