Meric Long (lead singer of the Dodos)

He had a solo project prior to forming the Dodos.

JBM

Saw him live playing a kickdrum and tamborine with his feet while he played guitar, sang, and played harmonica. He opened for Rogue Wave. Was pretty incredible to see.

I'm just happy someone mentioned the Queers. Great band.

I don't know what's that obscure. Lots of times I expect people to know a band and then no one does. I'm sort of out of the loop. But right now? Probably the David Mayfield Parade.

Ever? I really liked the Bruce Lee Band. Anal count is hysterical. But probably some smallish DC punk band like Dag Nasty or Shudder to Think would be the most obscure band I like. Or Fidel.

I mentioned them on the bad name thread, but I'm always shocked more people haven't heard of Archers of Loaf. Kind of the yin to Pavement's yang.

They're obscure to anyone who only listens to what passes for modern rock radio here around Baton Rouge. In other places, I agree, they're not obscure at all.

Cult band. They are certainly not mainstream, however they have a very big following in the skateboard world.
