James Taylor
Mumford and Son
Bon Jovi
Van Halen
(not that the last 2 were critically acclaimed - just popular).

U2 - New Years Day and Sunday Bloody Sunday are great songs, but then they went south.

Going with the 2 most beloved bands of music critics.

Radiohead and Arcade Fire. They could record a double album of fart sounds and still get 5 star reviews. Yet I can't stand either of them or get it.

I don't know if they're "critically acclaimed" but I hate AC/DC

Radiohead
This one is the biggest mystery to me because people who like them tend to like stuff I like. That whiny singing. Damn it's so bad.

Yeah, I do think they were a hugely overrated band. They get way too much credit for the grunge movement that they rode, but certainly didn't originate.

That new Uptown Funk song is great. Sounds like Prince and The Time

That's the problem, though. Most of his hits are basically rip-offs of previous great artists (See Locked Out of The Police)

He was one of the few true musical geniuses of the 20th century who actually decided to play rock music, and I'm not surprised at all that there aren't more people who appreciate him.

His classical arrangements are fantastic, as well. I wish I could find my copy of Strictly Genteel.

I catch shite for this all the time but Radiohead... I don't think they sucks arse but I can not figure out why so many people worship them.

I love their early albums, but they turned south around Kid A. That album still has some really great songs, but they got extremely self-indulgent.

uninspired is not the right word for a song that was absolutely inspired by a traumatizing event
