No words. He was truly a legend. His music always made my days better.
RIP, Captain.
ETA: name your favorite Buffett song.
Mine is without a doubt, "First Look". Such a smooth tune that has given me dreams of island life for decades now.

I was never really a fan of his music on its own... but in the right time and place, a little Jimmy Buffet never hurt anyone...
Seemed like a good guy who enjoyed and got the most out of life... Requiescat in pace!

A Pirate Looks at Forty.
This is the only celebrity death that has ever made me cry like a baby. All I can say.
RIP to a man that lived life on his own terms.

Cheeseburger in Paradise always made my nephew laugh. I liked his more serious stuff. Was actually listening to this one the other day.

He was born on Christmas Day 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and grew up in Mobile, Alabama. He began playing guitar during his first year at Auburn University before continuing his college years at Pearl River Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history in 1969.

He mentions in his book A Pirate Looks at Fifty that he tried to get into LSU but didn’t have the grades.

Up for 2 minutes. Day is ruined.
After college Songs You Know by Heart CD had to be in your house or vehicle. Otherwise we probably weren’t going to hang out long.
Condolences to any true Parrotheads.

Dude I woke up to piss about 4:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep. Checked IG and saw the post on his account. It was like seeing a ghost in that sail boat. Surreal. Woke my daughter up and listened to some tunes, cried, and told her to— NO MATTER WHAT— live her life to the fullest and pursuit her dreams. That’s the message I received from his music and life.

Man so much of my childhood involved his music. My dad and brother were huge fans. I’ve always liked him but loved his earlier more country tracks. My favorites include:
Tin Cup Chalice
Brahma Fear
He Went to Paris
The Wino and I Know

Was he in bad health recently? I thought he was playing small venues just recently. Seems sudden

I can hardly go a week without using a line from God’s Own Drunk in conversation.
