IDK about that, The rap industry has carried him along for a while now, He's bee posthumously feat. on several track and All Eyes on Me is about to drop at theaters. For a dead guy he's got some longevity.

For the record Biggie's body of work still bury's Pac. IMO

How do you people look at that as greatness and probably don't even know Big L, Jada, Nas etc
This about sums up this whole thread. If you think Lil Wayne belongs in a discussion of GOATs, you haven't heard most from before then.

Let's look at the resume shall we?

-75 million records sold
-2 albums: All Eyez on Me and Greatest Hits among the best-selling in the US
-Consistently ranked among the most influential rappers of all-time across many publications(consensus)
-Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee
-Inducted into the National Recording Registry
-3 no. 1 pop albums
-4 top 40 hits(while living)
-No. 1 pop hit
-6 no. 1 rap hits(while living)
-5 top 10 R&B hits(while living)

Pac crossed over BIG TIME to the mainstream, the facts indicate he isn't overrated.

I'll take biggie's best over pac's best, but 2pac has about 25 songs that I like/love, whereas biggie has less than 10.

GOAT imo. Feels like he rapped about every subject he knew about. Friends, mama, domestic abuse, poverty, etc. Not just getting bitches and money...although he did that quite a bit as well

And he is one of the few rappers that I feel actually did and lived the life he rhymed about.

Plus, I was digging rap when he was at his peak. '94 - '99

Well, he was murdered in cold blood and still unsolved. That's what I think about when I hear "Thug Life"

Three 6 Mafia belongs on the rap Mt Rushmore.

"Slob on My Knob" and "arse and Titties" are indelible.

He's absolutely one of the best lyricists of all time.

I'm not a big fan of a lot of his songs though.

He can't touch Biggie in the fact that literally everything, 100% of what Biggie made wasn't just great lyrics but was an amazing song that you can listen to over and over again.

Over half of Tupac's songs, while great lyrics, are not good songs. A lot of them are work to get through. And a lot of it hasn't aged well. Biggies has all held up very well.

Biggie's flow kills Tupac's as well. Biggie was a better lyricist too IMO. He was a story teller while Pac was too preachy.

You can sit with Biggies entire catalog on repeat and never hit skip and not only never get tired of it, but it keeps getting better. Not so much with Pac's stuff, I'd be skipping most of it.

I put Eminem ahead of Pac too.

Wayne was on there up until after the Carter 3, IMO.

RIP Weezy

He quit lean and it saved his life but killed his career. Ironic.

At the time Carter 3 and Dedication 3 were out I would have put him there for sure... not so much now

But who's to say if Pac and Biggie had lived that they wouldn't have also suffered big drop offs as they aged. Had Wayne been killed or ODd in 2008 he'd be a legend now too.

Tupac wrote 713 songs by the age of 25. Most of them never released or even actually recorded, but that's the number the movie "All eyes on Me" claimed at the end.

While I do believe that Pac's thug image drove his sales just as much as his talent, but there is no denying how talented he was.

And for me, Biggie's resume doesn't even come close to Tupac's. But that opinion varies from person to person.

Tupac is credited with 75 million album sales, worldwide... all-time.

Biggie is credited with 20 million in total album sales.

Tupac's influence is properly rated but his skills on the mic are severely overrated. His persona is what he is most known for. It's debatable that his best album(All Eyez on Me) is even a classic.

And record sales don't prove he put out better music. By that measurement people like Taylor Swift would be considered better than Biggie.
