Happy birthday to him and all, but based on strictly lyrics and talent, where do you place him on the hip hop / rap hall of fame? I've heard lil Wayne, em, Tupac, and biggie are mt Rushmore, but the latter two didn't prove the longevity.

Maybe, but only because he died. He was one of the best rappers in the 90's and his stuff still holds up today.

Wayne was on there up until after the Carter 3, IMO.

I think there is a fairly obvious reason as to why Pac and Biggie couldn't prove longevity.

Also, Pac and Big were two of the best storytellers in the history of hip hop.

Putting Lil Wayne in the discussion for Hip Hop GOATs is laughable. Dude had a decent run in the 2000s but continuously produces garbage, along with the rest of Cash Money whatever.

No Jay-Z in the Mt. Rushmore? Gtfo. Even Nas has an argument.

As a documented Drake fan, you have no business in a hip-hop/rap thread.

2pac had a great sound; his voice and charisma were A+, and he benefited from great production/beats.

He was a decent story teller, but lyrically he wasn't on the same planet as biggie and Eminem.

His catolog is much better than biggie's, and on par with Eminem.

I do agree that his death elevated him to a status he may not achieved had he not been killed, however, I think he got the most help from the producers he worked with. Much more so than biggie at least.

PAC was charismatic but I'd say his work never matched what ice cube did on his first 2 solo albums ( and st ides commercials.)

Agree but what Lil Wayne put out from circa 2003-2009 beats anything any hip hop/rap artist has ever done. That alone puts him a tier ahead of the other 3.

How do you people look at that as greatness and probably don't even know Big L, Jada, Nas etc
