The band was composed of musicians from different bands. The band was founded as a project of Jason Slater (Former member of Third Eye Blind). To him, the lead singer Tobey Torres joined & later, Martina Axen (lead singer of Drain STH). Drummer of the band was Neil Taylor and is supported by Bobby Hewitt (former drummer of Orgy). The band also consisted of guitarist Eric Hendrikx, Fab Fernandez and the lead guitarist Mitchell Doran

Replicants
quote:
Replicants was a four-piece American rock band, consisting of Ken Andrews, Paul D'Amour, Greg Edwards, and Chris Pitman, which has been on hiatus since 1996. The group has only released one album, a self-titled cover album, in 1995. The band's name comes from the verb 'To replicate', or 'To copy', making fun of the band's status as "a tribute band"
Some months after Paul D'Amour left Tool, where he played the role as the bass player, he joined Chris Pitman, a keyboardist, and Failure members Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards. The four decided to restrict their work to covering songs by famous bands active in the 70's and the 80's.

Dag Nasty: Can I Say
I missed their reunion show because my wife as having a baby. That's just poor planning on our part. OK, I know they got back together and released a few more albums, but here's the thing: I do not recognize them as Dag Nasty. Dischord only. If they don't apply, then Rites of Spring. What? Another Dischord band? How did that happen?

The La's - S/T
Lee Mavers is an absolute nutter and perfectionist and while they didn't directly break up after the release... They have never released another studio album..

I would throw Embrace into the conversation as well.

I pull this CD out and listen to it every once in a while. I still can't believe they weren't more popular. They immediately came to mind when I read the thread title.

One of my favorite bands! I love the unicorns.
But they released two albums.
I really liked the split off band The Clues, but that was pretty clear it was just going to be one album.
I really like Quiet Village - Silent Movie

I didn't realize that. Looks like the first was a self released album that had a bunch of songs that were re-worked for the main album, so I was close!
