First time I heard Jonny Lang, I thought he has black.

There's no one on Earth who would listen to "Still Rainin'" and think Lang was anything other than a 70+ year old black dude from Mississippi, but......

He's a skinny white kid from Fargo, ND.

Terry Kath - Chicago (FIFY)

I'm willing to bet that most people thought Alex Chilton was black when they heard "The Letter", "Soul Deep"or "Cry Like a Baby" by The Box Tops.

My entire life I thought the song "I Can't Tell You Why" (Eagles) was sung by a woman until I saw the Eagles live in 2014(?) at the age of 45 and it was sung by one Timothy B Schmitt.

You should voluntarily ban yourself for a few weeks for that one.

My old roommate who is a recording engineer was working on a record (about 2000-2001) and he let's me hear a record with this amazing voice from a local guy here. Dude sounded like a 60 year old black man who's been singing the blues for decades.

He said, "yea this kid is 16. And he's from your town, Carencro."

A few days later in comes Marc Broussard at our place to listen to his tracks that he recorded....

Hey geniuses, mistaking a man for a woman does not equal mistaking someone for being another race.
Thought hozier was black when I heard that take me to church.
