With his death, just recently found out, Fame, is by David Bowie. Absolutely shocked. Danced the 'bump' at junior high parties to this song back in the day. Was sure it was by a black group.

Until about 3 weeks ago, I thought "Who Can It Be Now" was a Huey Lewis and the News song. Siri humbled me in my game of car ride "name that tune" with my wife. Men at Work never crossed my mind.

For the longest time I thought "Signs" were by the Beatles.

I thought You Ain't Goin' Nowhere(Mcguinn/Hillman version) was Lyle Lovett. Looking back, I don't understand how I could have thought that .

Closing Time from Semisonic. I thought it was Better Than Ezra.

Thunderclap Newman - Something in the Air
Growing up I was familiar with this song, but never realized who it was... much less knew that Pete Townshend was in the band.. Not sure who I may have though it was..
When I found out it was like... Who?!?!?

I always though "Don't Pull Your Love" by Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds was sung by Elvis Presley.

I thought Carried Away and Round about Way were by Joe Diffie for a while. I didn't pay a lot of attention to country during that time

And I always thought 'Into The Night' by Benny Mardones was Steve Perry solo

Today I was listening Every kinda people and happened to glance down and see its Robert Palmer.
WTH? I never really thought about who sang it. But Robert Palmer would have been about my 5,783rd guess.

For a long time i thought "here i go again on my own" was Sammy Hagar. First time i heard it was right after he left Van Halen. Thought it made sense.

It ain't over til it's over by Lenny Kravitz. I just assumed it was sung by some 70s R&B group like the Spinners or the Ojays. Blew my mind when I realized it was a 90s song by Kravitz.

and you can't search for the artist because you don't know the title either. jeez. been LSS with "even if you want to go alone, I will be waiting when you're coming home.. if you need someone to ease the pain, you can lean on me, my love will still remain......" so I ended up googling the whole lyrics, - complicated heart, MLTR
