This would have been a perfect movie to see in 3d. It was pulled from every theater in a 60 mile radius despite having good reviews.

Showing a movie to empty theaters costs money.

It's not packing the seats. When we went we were one of four couples in the whole theater.

Because it bombed terribly and those screens were needed for movies that could actually make the theaters money via ticket sales and concessions.

Because it sucks. RZ can stroke his dick as much as he likes, but no one gives a shite about him anymore.

Duh.

My main question is why isn't the film resonating with audiences? Great special effects and reviews. Is the image of the towers just too much for people?

An entire move about a guy walking a tightrope was in no way appealing to me. Looks like the vast majority agreed with me.

It is meaningless to most people.

It's a biopic of a largely inconsequential event that occurred more than 35 years ago so their target audience has no memory of it.

Why should we care?

Even if it's the best and compelling storytelling ever, on the surface there is no draw.

Man on Wire is an amazing and incredibly inspirational documentary. You should all see it if you haven't yet. But I think once you've seen it, the desire to go see a fictional account of it, is much less enticing.

This is why I didn't care about The Walk. Why see a overdramatized version of something when there is a very good documentary about it.

Sucks that it failed but I could see that coming a mile away.

I saw it in IMAX 3D with my girlfriend, on a Friday, 1 week after it was released.

We were the only people in the entire theater.
