And maybe having a wolf pack led by a dire wolf..

The show has done a really shitty job with the dire wolves. They look like regular dog-sized wolves. Not really that intimidating to a grown man in armor.

As I said in the other thread, the spy footage of the ToJ scene suggests that Reed snuck up behind Dayne and killed him while he was facing Ned.

And that would fit in how the Crannogmen fought. They were sneaky as hell. I bet while Ned and Dayne were fighting, Reed snuck up behind Dayne and gigged his arse in the back.

Not a book reader, but apparently his father Randyll Tarly is pretty badass.

Well, this is the inference everyone draws from Ned's description. I mean, it is laughable on its face that the 2 of them defeat him head on. But the crannogmen with their forks, nets and poisons (similar to Dornish in ways) don't play that, especially a tiny little guy that had to have a Stark girl stand up for him at one point.

And she's destined for the Iron Throne, I think...

But the text absolutely does not say that Ned and Howland Reed killed Dayne. Dayne would have killed Ned if not for HR and they pulled down the tower and built six funeral cairns. Pay attention to what is said and what is not said.

I'm with you. I'm paying attention (and it's 8 cairns).

5 Northmen, 3 Kingsguard.

I started to factcheck the cairns but I'm lazy. But Lyanna is the one missing, she's entombed at WF.

If his stories are even true, those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach give private lessons to children. I don't think he should even be on the list.

The one time we saw him in action he thrashed three armed and armored Lannister guardsmen with a wooden sword. I seent it.

He handled 2-3 Lannister's soldiers and that pedo, Meryn Trant (IIRC that's who it was), from the Kingsguard with a wooden sword long enough for Arya to get away.

If he had an actual sword he would have carved them to ribbons.

ETA: What he said ^^^^^
