Man I hope everyone's consensus on Suicide Squad is true. Ayer has had some great movies, but he's also had some duds. Everything in the trailer says it looks great. I really hope so.

I think everyone will eat their words on Spiderman. I'm not a fan of the title or logo, but I think it will be one of the best Spiderman movies to date.

I just hope they don't go the ultimate route with Spider-Man and have him die after taking a bullet for Captain America, then bleeding out during a fight with the Goblin.

I don't get why everyone is expecting a dud from Spider-Man. MCU has done nothing but put out solid movies and now they have the chance to play with what is probably Marvel's biggest, most recognizable property. If people think they'll frick that up, they're just looking to bitch and hoping to see failure.

I think a lot of people are putting weight in things they aren't fond of that will have no bearing on whether or not the movie will be good. Things like the title or the suit. I admittedly was not a big fan of the suit when first unveiled. Nor am I a fan of the title or logo. That doesn't mean the movie will be bad by any means. You have to look at who's responsible for the property at this point. Marvel has been batting just about a thousand for most people. They understand how important this character is. You have to have confidence that they'll do things right, because that's what they've done so far.

Cap and Iron Man aren't going to be around forever. Spiderman will be VERY important for the MCU going forward. I think they understand that and they'll do things right.

I expect Suicide Squad will be rated "fresh"; it looks like it will be a lot of fun. Doesn't seem to have that grandiose melodrama feel that a lot of critics attached to BvS (the Watchmen comparison);
plus, if it's even decent, I think the critics will be careful not to appear to have a vendetta against DC movies. BvS has made a decent amount of money, and there was a wide disconnect between the audiences and critics- the audiences felt it was ok but not great, while the critics tore into it.

Marvel "rotten", I would think either Thor or GoTG 2 would be at most risk. Although I love both properties so far, I know Thor seems to be the most vulnerable to complaints. Might be the "Superman" factor, it's pretty tough to put Thor in actual danger, and it seems like Loki is the prevailing reason for good reviews.

Guardians, I think, was a big surprise that took advantage of the scifi aspects and the nice casting chemistry. Both of these could be dinged in a sequel:
Star Wars is going to affect how scifi action is viewed by critics, and all the quirky dialog humor that was so fun the first time, might come across as forced the second time.

Dr. Strange as the first rotten. Has to be one of the first times a Marvel movie preview left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Suicide Squad, maybe. It's entertaining to see the writers paired up on two movies before: American Hustle and Scooby Doo.

I wouldn't bet against a Marvel Studios movie, but I'll say Inhumans since I doubt it'll ever get made.

Why do you say this? Ms. Marvel is their best-selling non-Star Wars title, and also one of their most critically acclaimed. And you can't do a Ms. Marvel film until you do Inhumans. I think Marvel wants to knock out the Inhumans film so they can make a movie version of one of their most valuable new properties.

Ms. Marvel is the Pakistani Inhuman from New Jersey (Kamala Khan).

She has powers similar to Mystique (shapeshifting) and Wolverine (Healing Factor)

They have repeatedly pushed back the date for the Inhumans movie and have had presentations where it was the lone movie left off of the Marvel Studios schedule. It wasn't until the TV people got upset (since they were told to build up the Inhumans on TV) that Marvel would admit that the movie was still scheduled. It seems that The Inhumans is at the bottom of their list of priorities.

I honestly doubt any of the Marvel movies get a rotten score. If any, it will be Ant-Man and the Wasp or Inhumans.

Thor 3 should be epic.

I agree that Suicide Squad is poised for fresh reviews.

If they want to feature Ms. Marvel, they CANNOT introduce her until they've introduced Carol Danvers. The whole reason Kamala even takes on the name Ms. Marvel is because Danvers is her idol, for lack of a better term.

The only inhumans more prominent than Kamala are the royal family.

I know what it means, but I don't play it.

On a side note, having someone similar to Nazneen Contractor playing a Muslim teenager who basically has Harley Quinn's accent is something I definitely want to see.

eBFF application denied.

But I do like Carol Danvers coming in. She better be finer than a frog hair.
