I am pretty sure they have tried a few times and failed. Someone correct me but I think bad shite always seemed to happen surrounding the production.

It's been attached four or five times and its never gotten off the ground. Zach G is attached now but will probably never be made. It's cursed.

And I'd like to see Island of the Sequined Love Nun made into a movie but doubt anyone knows what it is

Anathem - Neal Stephenson, it would work well as a movie. Snow Crash would have been great a while ago but is pretty dated now.
Winter's Tale (Helprin) is supposedly being made. I doubtful the movie can work as well as the book but . Helprin's A Soldier of the Great War would be great as a movie.

I'd like to see more of the Master and Commander books filmed. I believe they took material from 3 books for the movie but that still leaves 17 books untouched. Unfortunately semi-accurate seafaring movies can't compete against the Pirates of the Caribbean nonsense.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Heinlein would make a good flick if done right.

Bernard Cornwell's Lords of the North series, or Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy. The Nathaniel Starbuck chronicles would be good too.

Another excellent choice - on some days, it is my favorite Clancy book (although Red Storm Rising and Hunt for Red October were the bomb, as well.)

I still wish they had continued the Left Behind series book to film move. they get Really good in the later books. They stopped making the Crappy Kirk Cameron movies after the second one.

That was more of a re-imagining with an all male cast.

In the works. The author is heavily involved.

I'd like to see Rainbow Six.

Little obscure, but David Gemmell's Rigante or Drenai series could make an excellent miniseries or series. Troy series could work as well, but retelling may be too far from Iliad and Odyssey for some.

Two pages and no one has said Preacher yet? This was by far the best comic I've ever read and one of the best books. I think HBO wanted to do it but backed out, it would be an amazing mini-series.
