I've posted this before, but if anyone is interested, the Bicameral Mind theory is interesting. It apparently held a lot of sway in psychology circles at one time.

Well there you go

quote:

Rather than making conscious evaluations in novel or unexpected situations, the person would hallucinate a voice or "god" giving admonitory advice or commands and obey without question: one would not be at all conscious of one's own thought processes per se

Very interesting. So the human brain evolved/developed consciousness/self-awareness as a result of changing environmental conditions in order to survive. Imagine that. Thanks for sharing.

So as it applies to Westworld, Arnold and Dr. Ford are the 2 halves of the brain that controls Westworld? Dr. Ford represents the more primitive state god voice directing host actions while Arnold represents the evolution of consciousness/self-awareness in the hosts?

I love this show. There really isn't a show we've talked about at work more than this one and that includes GoT. So much intrigue and mystery that gives you so much to talk about

It doesn't have the epic impact of GoT but within its scope it has been pretty great so far. Love Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Wright but just an outstanding cast overall.

being HBO, you know it's going to end with a huge one. Some huge question we have to wait 10 months for an answer.

I kind of think Ford dies, I don't see Sir Anthony Hopkins doing a TV show for years.

to be fair all his work probably took 6 months max and season 2 isn't even written yet so it's not like he's working a ton on this

This may be wishful thinking, speculation has season 2 coming in 2018.
