Smokin Aces- This movie is like if a 13 year old was given a huge budget and a very rough outline for where the producers wanted a movie to go. And it was awesome. Just a lot of fun and has a lot of laughs to go along with kickass action.

While I can't say this is a good movie overall, Jason Bateman is hilarious in his small role.

The Big Hit: Mark Wahlberg, Lou Diamond Phillips as hit men

American Pie Beta House: Easily the best of the smaller American Pie branch offs

Law Abiding Citizen: Sure the ending through some people off, but great movie IMO

U571: Great movie

Sneakers. Fun heist film with an awesome cast. Robert Redford, Ben Kingsley, Sidney Poitier, River Phoenix, David Strathairn, Dan Akryod. One of my favorite movie scores (RIP James Horner )

Albert Brooks is now an elder statesman of comedy, showing up as the hired pro to add life to current comedies and dramas. His early films are masterpieces that are often overlooked by the general public.

Real Life: In 1979, he 100% predicted both the reality show genre and how directors would kill documentaries by inserting themselves into the subject matter. Real Life was a spoof on PBS' An American Family, but it turned out to be more prescient than parody.

Modern Romance: His take on losing your girlfriend and the obsession of getting her back. His brother Bob "Super Dave Osborne" Einstein has an amazing turn in a small role.

Lost in America: Selling everything that you have, telling corporate America to go to hell, and hitting the road to find yourself (only to have everything immediately turn to shite). A lesson in why you can't return to the 1960's.

Throwing in another vote for "In Bruges"

"Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" is one awesome movie no one ever really talks about. Or if they do, it's always as an aside to Snatch

Linklater

Check out Bernie, it's on SHO currently. Jack Black is unreal, and it's close to a perfect movie (documentary? mockumentary? dramedy?) I missed the very beginning the first time and didn't realize that it was a true story, which kind of explained how they got such great performances out of the locals. My only gripe was that it didn't need Mcconaughey, but he didn't ruin it by any stretch.

*Spoilers kind of

The crazy thing is that after the movies release, Bernie was granted parole under the condition that he live in Linklater's guest house.

Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert ford is by far the most under appreciated movie ever.

The Coen Bros. remake of The Ladykillers

Though I liked it...It loses points because the 1955 original with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers kicks is arse.

"Hot Fuzz" is really the best of the Cornetto Trilogy.

It really is. When you find out who is behind the murders and why, you don't stop laughing. Most glorious final act in comedic history.

"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" may be the best animated Disney movie of all time.

If it weren't for the damn gargoyles, yeah, I'd say this would be a fact. But man are the Gargoyles a huge miss in this movie. How dare you make Jason Alexander not funny!

As for my pick, Children of Men. A perfectly shot and edited film. The tension, the characters, themes, all of it just perfect.

Explorers - Super under-rated and G rated.

Cabin Boy - Hilarious comedy nobody ever talks about.

Prince of Persia" is criminally under-appreciated as an action-comedy, and is probably the best movie based on a video game ever made.

Agree.

Also:

"In Bruges"

"Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"

"Josie and the Pussycats" is the most brilliant satire about the commercialization of the music industry ever made.

"Just Friends" is the GOAT Christmas movie, not Diehard.

Have to put "The Ref" ahead of "Just Friends" for Christmas movies.

"Scott Pilgrim vs The World" is Edgar Wright's best movie and should have been considered for a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar.

"Enemy Mine" should be in the top five of every list of great sci-fi movies.

Nothing In Common

First movie to really show Hanks' potential as a dramatic actor.

Jackie Gleason's last movie.

Plus, Sela Ward...
