As bad as some of the dialog is on the show, it is even worse in the books.

whats the point of mentioning the book?

start another thread for a book discussion

when people ask "i wonder whats going to happen", they arent asking for people to post what happens in the book. They are trying to start a discussion about what might possibly happen.

Most here havent read the book, so we have no clue what might happen, which makes the show that much more interesting to us. We dont want to come here and read about what may or may not happened based on the book.

thank the frick out of you.
And regardless of it being a spoiler posted or not, it's almost impossible not to read it within a glance.

the book is only an inspiration for the series, granted much is staying true,,but much is not.

Tara was barely in the books and has been central in the show.. but people should at least post the SPOILERS warning

That being said,,MAYBE SPOLIERS

ive not read the books but im guessing from here on out

as far as godric goes,, Im not completely sure hes gone,, remember when Bill was in the sun,, he burned like he was on a grill,,, and in the past when vamps burned/were killed there was SOME residue

with godrick is was blue flames then POOF,, so who knows......?

supernaturals are not affected by maryann,, and Andy might be a werewolf,, whats odd is Maryann had to have noticed andy when he busted up the party UNLESS when shes in that state she blacks out like everyone else,, if thats the case,, my guess is thats how she gets taken. we know that Sam gets taken, so something has to happen,,Sam is obviously spilling the beans to ANdy,, fly on the wall,, so ANdy has to be involved with saving him somehow.

thats all I got,, I like the show,, science fiction allows for interesting stories since anything is possible

My bad on "The Magistrate", I do remember seeing them now. That was the guy from Heroes. I wonder if he was local authority or the "big dog". I would love them to show more of the heirarchy of the vampire world. Not sure if this is in the books, but it would be cool to see. IMO

interesting...that would be pretty cool. I see Andy as the one taking her down. He has to redeem himself and she has to go out in some big way to make her story line come to a close.

food for thought,

from Wiki,(i know)

A notable exception to the association of Lycanthropy and the Devil, comes from a rare and lesser known account of an 80-year-old man named Thiess. In 1692, in Jurgenburg, Livonia, Thiess testified under oath that he and other werewolves were the Hounds of God. He claimed they were warriors who went down into hell to do battle with witches and demons. Their efforts ensured that the Devil and his minions did not carry off the gran from local failed crops down to hell. Thiess was steadfast in his assertions, claiming that werewolves in Germany and Russia also did battle with the devil's minions in their own versions of hell, and insisted that when werewolves died, their souls were welcomed into heaven as reward for their service. Thiess was ultimately sentenced to ten lashes for Idolatry and superstitious belief.

SO if Maryann is the devil,,then.......

the writers are getting their ideas from mythology,, why not use this one?

She's not the devil. They already said she is a Maenid(sp?). Actually that shapeshifting girl told Sam about her just before she was killed. She is a follower of Dionysis and has lived a very long time and basically loves and creates chaos.

Dionysis was goddess of wine and partying so....

So did you not watch the show last year or are you waiting until HBO says the show is done before reading? Just wondering. I had never heard of the books until the show. Bought them all for my wife for Christmas and she blew through them in a month. I have taken my time, only reading while on the shitter. Still have 2 books to go. I won't post anything about the books anymore.

Andy was at several of her parties, but, I don't ever remember seeing him with his eyes all black like the others. He was just drunk and going along with the flow I think.

I think he is immune to her. Don't know if he is a werewolf or something else.

Ill tell you what, next time i'll just say well i speculate "so-n-so" is gonna happen. send the show is "based" on the book, not spot on. would that make you feel better?

But it seems like he wasn't there long enough to get the black eyes influence that everyone gets after being around MaryAnn for awhile. But I also wonder if the more exposure people have to her, the quicker they get the black eyes. Which explains how Egg changes so quickly.

Lafayette-I was surprised at how he was able to beat down Eggs like he did. Lafayette could very well be drinking the V on the lowlow.

Sookie & Eric- I could not be more excited that she drank his blood and now they are gonna be hooking up. I would rather Sookie/eric or Sookie/Godric than Sookie/Bill

Godric- I am very mad and sad that he died. Not only was he cute but I felt like Sookie really liked him. The writers should have let her grab him just as he was getting weak and pulling him downstairs, then maybe kissing him or something. Hopefully he left some ashes behind or something and she can bury the ashes and revive him. Or what if Eric drops some of his blood on the ashes of Godric and that would bring him back to life? Is that possible?

People who post spoilers- I wish you wouldn't.

I seriously doubt that Godric is done. Too many people are going to be pissed off if he is done.
