Transformers 2-3
I am the Number 4
Vanishing on 7th Street
The Hulk remake of another remake- Jut redo the entire franchise
X-men 1,2,3- Redo the Franchise
Twilight
Green Lantern- Redo this movie

I'm sure Hollywood should just redo a lot of movies that turn out to be shitty but I'm sure if done properly these movies could become solid hits even if they were because of Hype but with good plots.

What else were you expecting? Its a film made up from a line of toys. I liked the series back in the day (the animated movie was pretty good but not amazing), and the toys certainly kick arse, but its just a film used to promote toys really. I mean yeah they could have certainly been better, but there's no reason for a reboot. All I wanted was to see explosions and robots jacking each other in the face.... and thats what I got. I thought the second one was hilariously horrible, and I gave into the third and thought it wasn't terrible.

They are with the First Class Series. Plus I thought 2 was really good.

Under no circumstances should these be remade unless it includes a cameo by Blade towards the end of the first and only one.

Remaking Battlefield Earth which sucked and made no money, would garner no interest at all, even if it was done correctly. Doing it this way would require a MASSIVE pr battle out front just to get the new film onto a level surface.
I agree. Which is why it would only work when remaking a bad movie that got no publicity.

Maybe some crappy 70's/80's movie that, if redone with current special effects and a solid director, could be great.

It probably wouldn't be hard to find good stories that were poorly executed, but that's not why Hollywood remakes films. It's not about easy content creation, it's about built in marketing/branding.

We've had enough drag films with actors portraying multiple characters. And maybe aside from the Nutty Professor, none of these movies were remotely good. Its a pretty terrible concept. If you want to know why in extreme detail, scroll down the page a little bit and go to my review thread.

Ocean's 11 is a great example of this working out very well. The original is a muddled mess.

Most bad films are bad because of the story. Good films are good because of the same thing.

Sure, the acting and directing are a big art of it, but it's the story that dictates why something will be good or bad, and who wants to remake a bad story?

I get the Brand equity part, but I can think of so many films that were loaded with potential. Did one thing really well (love the sets in waterworld and then they just destroy it 20 minutes in) and frick up easy stuff.

I think these films don't capitalize on their brand name anyway. I would be way more excited for a waterworld remake than a Conan the barbarian one

I have no idea if I'm in the minority here, but I really like Reign of Fire. No need for a remake in my book.

Masters of the Universe (He-Man) definitely needs a remake. The Dolph Lundgren movie from the 80's sucked royally.

Oliver Stone turned this would be epic into a homo soap opera. I was surprised to see him screw up a movie about one of the greatest Generals of the ancient world.
