Why can't Clarkson stop being an a-hole?

That Producer should have done his job and got him a hot freakin meal.

To be fair, his assholeish persona is the whole reason people enjoyed him on Top Gear.

So, just found out that Tymon is Irish. In this case, why the frick does the BBC care? This basically what England has been doing to Ireland the last 500+ years anyway. Clarkson was just being a patriot.

I can understand people being pissed that Top Gear will be ending. But Clarkson has a had a number of altercations with staff over the years. The dude is funny and is the main reason for the shows success. But he seems like an a-hole to do deal with. Oh well, TG had a nice run. Time to move on.

It isn't like the producers have ran a clean ship either. They are most of the reason the last Stig outed himself. Kind of left him hanging in some attempt to keep his identity a secret.
Not defending Clarkson with this, just showing another side of the coin.

The irony of it all for the producer, for him 'tattling' to the Boss, his actions may end up losing his own job, if the show doesn't continue or gets cancelled after ratings plummet.
Hopefully the Netflix rumor is true, about going after Clarkson & according to this LINK May & Hammond's contracts end next week. Netflix would be interesting. The BBC bashing jokes would be awesome

Its simple. The 3 hosts plus the Executive Producer will go to another network and make bank.
BBC and the battered producer are both screwed.
Clarkson was apparently being a dickhead and I'm not condoning it, but dems the apples.

Yup... The best days of Top Gear on the BBC are over

Yup, he is def an arrogant and whiney a-hole, but he does have a certain something when on screen. Even if May and Hammond stayed (which they've indicated they are done) the show wouldn't have the same on screen chemistry.

Hear me out...
Is it possible, with all 3 contracts coming due, that Jezza did this for added publicity for the trio and a way out of TG so they could go to another show? Can you imagine the build up there will be for the next show featuring the 3 of them?

If Clarkson didn't have a history of dumbassery, I could pick up what you're putting down.
But either way, I think there will be some sort of spinoff with them.

Pretty sure Hammond and May went on record saying they would not film without Clarkson...
People keep repeating this, but it doesn't sound to me that May is absolutely ruling it out:

To me it sounds like May is sticking with Jezza. Time will tell.

It sucks that the show is in jeopardy.
But I think the producers had a lot of integrity firing Clarkson.
There's only so much bullshite you can condone.

Being objective, he deserved to be fired, but I really can't be objective. Top Gear is my favorite show of all time.

I meet Jeremy, Richard and James years ago when they we're up filming on the blueridge parkway. I can tell just from meeting them once, their personalities we're polar opposite from one each other.
I just happened to be driving my '71 hemicuda down around,"the gap", it's the place where they we're on top of the mountain looking into NC if I remember correctly)
the only car that actually really stood out was the 458 because of the beautiful Ferrari Red, when I pulled up one of the producers who was American went ape shite over my car and said,"Hammond is gonna shite his panties", let me tell you fellas the greatest thrill in the world being an automobile enthusiasts is looking at the face on Richard when I popped the hood, he instantly said,"your whipper motor is stunning!" I take a lot of pride in detailing my restos, but knowing that was the first thing he looked at was really cool.
I asked him if he wanted to drive and said because of insurance purposes he couldn't, then james came up and was looking at it from afar while I was talking to Hammond and said,"where are all the ugly decals?" james apparently thinks all American muscle cars are covered with cheesy graphics and chrome, which I promptly replied,"at home with my jaguar electrical engineering experts..." james smiled and laughed and turned around and Hammond said,"he likes your car...", at this point I was the happiest person on the planet
while Hammond was wrapping up our conversation when I heard a bellow of,"well frick me!".. It made everybody instantly become silent as Jeremy was apparently complaining about reserve gear for the trip being inadequate
Hammon then said,"and that's Mr. Clarkson"
He went over and started complaining to James before setting his sights on Hammond, Hammond had a,"please don't bother me with this look in his before he tried to turn away before you heard,"Hammmmmend!", he then said turned to me and said,"gotta go, been a pleasure, sir"
Clarkson then approached Hammon and looked at my car before looking at me and giving me this look..
I waved goodbye, hoped in my car and cranked Going to California and was the happiest person on the planet
Richard Hammon, James May and Jeremy Clarkson looked upon my America muscle car with approval.
It wasn't till twenty minutes up the road that I said,"shite! I didn't get a pic!" still one of the biggest regrets in my life.
Richard Hammond is a class act, gentlemen
If this is the end, then it's been a hell of a ride, I haven't caught a new episode in like two years, but I can't wait to catch up.
Just going back and thinking about that day made me realize how true to form they are on screen to their real personalities. Can't wait to meet them again one day, hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon since they don't have any future plans it seems.
