It is understood a report into the so-called ‘fracas’ at a North Yorkshire hotel, concluded that presenter spent 20 minutes verbally abusing producer Oisin Tymon, before launching a 30 second physical assault on him. The outburst came after Clarkson, who is one of the BBC’s best paid stars, was informed he could not have steak and chips after a day’s filming because the hotel where they were staying had stop serving hot food.

For the love of God somebody pay him to do the US Top Gear. Clarkson is one of the best TV personalities of our generation.

The internet buzz is that Netflix is looking at picking him up to do a car show not named Top Gear. No idea if it's just idiots talking or there's something to it.

Clarkson is great, but I think he has a history of ruffling feathers, so this must've been the final straw.

Too bad. I'm not even much of a car guy and I love Top Gear.

Apparently Clarkson still hasn't heard anything yet. Although with the BBC, I'm sure they have plenty of leaks and people willing to speak out.

If Clarkson goes, I wonder if the group goes. Pretty sure Hammond and May went on record saying they would not film without Clarkson...

Netflix picking the three of them up would be sweet. Someone on Reddit mentioned production value might suffer, which it could, but Chris Harris and Matt Farrah have done okay with their respective /Drive series - and thats YouTube.

fricking sucks.... Hopefully Hammond and May continue with their refusal to film without him and they all get together for a show on a different network.

The on screen chemistry of the trio is what makes the show so damn enjoyable.

It's official. BBC underestimated his importance.

The show was better with low budgets. They need to get back to doing more cheap car challenges. I love seeing the new supercars but miss the early season feel.

They have actually been picked up by NBCSN for a second season. This time with all original programming, not re-edited youtube footage. This is going to be way better than Top Gear US. LINK

It doesn't matter if Clarkson is gone from the BBC. Fans will follow him wherever he goes.

BBC Link

Jeremy Clarkson's contract will not be renewed after a physical altercation with a producer, the BBC's director general Tony Hall has said.

Lord Hall said he had "not taken this decision lightly" and recognised it would "divide opinion".

However, he added "a line has been crossed" and he "cannot condone what has happened on this occasion".

Clarkson was suspended on 10 March, following what was called a "fracas" with Oisin Tymon in a Yorkshire hotel.

The row was said to have occurred because no hot food was provided for him following a day's filming.

An internal investigation began last week, led by Ken MacQuarrie, the director of BBC Scotland.

It found that Mr Tymon took himself to hospital after he was subject to an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack".
I hope that there's more to the story that "no hot food" prima donna shite

eta: I'm concerned about what happens to The Stig

Definitely. The show is at its best not when its about cars, but when it is an absurd travelogue. They'll get picked up by someone else, and they can go back to driving cars across third world nations.

No way Hammond and May return without Jeremy. Top Gear is dead.

This must be like how it felt when The Beatles broke up.

I seriously doubt this was the first run in he had with the producer. I don't condone his actions but I am sure there is more to the story

With that said,

I find Jezza entertaining but the BBC did the right thing here if the allegations are true.
