Also, always shocked to see so many people scared of the Paranormal Activity movie. That shite was so dumb.

Not gonna argue with you there . Same with the blair Witch movie being dumb as well.
I agree the ring was pretty scary and the descent for me was scary because every time they found a light source those monsters were nearby.

Blair Witch scared me for only being able to watch 10% of it due to being motion sick in the theater. I heard it though and that may have been worse.

Surprised that only one person has mentioned The Descent.

As far as older movies goes, Poltergeist got me as a kid due to the hallucination scenes with the paranormal investigators.

I first watched the Exorcist III when I was like 10 years old. The scene with the nurse and the shears scared the holy hell out of me. Still freaks me out to this day.

Saw Poltergeist when I was 7. Made me afraid of clowns, closets and static on TV for most of my childhood.

To this day, if I even see the box cover of that movie, the hair stands up on my skin.

As an adult, the original Paranormal Activity. Got zero sleep the night I watched that shite. frick demons.

Willard I'm a 25 year old guy and everytime I see a rat scurry across the floor I cringe because of that movie.

Jaws - I'm a 25 year old guy and its a because of this movie that I never learned how to swim the only water i'll step in is bath tub water or pool water clear enough to see my entire body. i'm fine never being able to swim

there are so many variables that go into horror movies in terms of the effect it has on a person, more so than any other genre, age being the main one imo.

Yeah, when as a kid, it wasn't the whole movie that scared but particular scenes from them that just freaked me out for the longest time until adolescent hit.

The tree coming alive and eating the kid in poltergeist. Had a huge tree outside my bedroom window as a kid and for years it freaked me.

The opening bus scene in A nightmare on elm street made me terrified to ride the bus as a little kid.

Not even a horror movie, but in Harry and the Hendersons, when Harry looks at the family on top of the car roof. I was petrified of seeing a Bigfoot staring at me thru my window.

Really don't remember this one, but my mother told me the ghost librarian scared the shite out of me in the theater and I wanted to leave, but ended up enjoying the rest of the movie.

My younger brother was terrified of the part in Who Framed Roger Rabbit when the bad guy got covered in goo and turned out to be a cartoon. You know, when the eyes pop out and stuff.

My lil dude ran out of the den so fast.

EASILY The Ring. frick everything about that movie.

I had a few friends who watched it alone late at night because I recommended it and we're cursing me under their breath they told me later because it so freaked them out.

The Ring and Kairo are two movies I watched alone at night and genuinely creeped me out beyond just being scared.

Supernatural or unexplainable horror is far more scary than Boogeyman or slasher.

As a child, this fricking movie scared the shite out of me, and made me afraid to look under the bed.

The most scared I've ever been was the abduction scene in Fire in the Sky. That shite was terrifying, though the rest of the movie is meh.

Yeah, should've said, "Other than the exorcist".

To this day this is the only movie that really, really scared me. When it was re-released into theaters for the 30th anniversary, I had to watch TV on the ready so I could change the channel quickly when the damned trailer would come on.

Just hearing "Tubular Bells" makes my skin crawl...
