as a superman fan, this movie was long overdue. I loved the action and henry cavil. But the movies' pacing was off and it felt very different. there was barely any charm and how many civilains died in all the wreckage. superman was badass though. I expected superman to fly around the world and help people, not just America
this says it pretty well. Still loved it overall but the mass destruction was off-putting for some reason. Then again, if the world was to be destroyed regardless, it makes sense

She was pretty damn good. Straight up killer in this movie. She was a bad bad person.
When she went into the singularity, did the colonel (meloni's character) actually sacrifice himself?

I still have a hard time getting over the classic "Superman puts on glasses and nobody knows who the frick he is
I mean how many Blue eyed, chizled 6'3 guys are walking around looking just like Supes
And then the chick that had her hand halfway down his pants through half the movie (including out of his suit) has no clue who he is when he shows up at her work
Thats more of a Superman Mythos problem than a MoS problem though

It's now just the physical look when he's Clark Kent.
It's how he acts as Clark Kent that is the disguise using physical tools. He acts like a hunched back, bumbling, nerdy, stammering fool that's a total klutz that trips over everything. That's what makes the disguise work.
So it's cool to see him change from that into the calm, tall and confident Superman.

Dude...I think so, but to tell the truth I can't pull the visuals up in my head. I really need to see again to solidy the film in my head. The action was dizzying and the pacing was astounding in some parts...I almost felt like I just plugged in to the Matrix in some points, and I loved it.

To Wild, she clearly knew who he was, she already knew his name from her research. She was pretending not to in order to protect his identity.

Just got back. Amazing. It is a lot to take in. The first 10 minutes of the movie I was thinking "what the frick am I watching? This is wild."

I heard a couple gasps/laughs when Lois said "If youre done with your Dick measuring contest.."
Audience full of parents throwing their hands over their kids ears

The transformation of Krypton from a sterile, overly-evolved, non-emotional environment was a great move IMO. Glad you enjoyed.

I loved this but I get the feeling that it was more of a feudal like society. I would've liked to see a clearer layout of the land and the buildings. Also, I would've liked to see the very beginnings of Krypton's demise when it started to explode.
ETA: I also wish there was a hologram of Lara as well, not just Jor-El so Kal can really know both his mother and father.

Just got out and I loved that movie. Great #1 to what is going to be an outstanding franchise.
Loved the action, Lois knowing Supes is Clark, everything involving Krypton, Pa Kent's death scene, and mother effin ZOD
Nitpick. How did the army airlift Clark's ship from the barn but they can't figure out who it is.
Definitely a big departure from what we're used to with Superman but it was a necessary move imo

Superman moved it and brought it to the base?

Question for you
Was the Codex plot from the comics? I couldnt find anything from my Wiki browsing so im wondering if that was a thing made for the movie or if it had a base in the comics

That'll work. Ill get into it more later but Zod really was a great character. His being genetically bred to be a General/protector of Krypton is a perfect motivation for his actions

Yeah That scene right before the final fight was one of the best parts of the movie. Zod really stole the show
Really interested to see what villian they choose for MoS2 and who plays him

Honestly, MoS Krypton's backstory and origin is pretty similar to most stories in the comics. The facts surrounding Krypton varies throughout the ages. But one fact is pretty consistent about Krypton, it's a very sterile and clean society. So I'm sure they drew inspiration from the Codex plot from these general facts and the one consistent fact.
So yeah, I think it was made for the movie.

I loved the whole father-son angle too. Jor-El and Jonathan Kent were a universe apart but they both had the same idea of what they wanted for Clark/Kal.
There's no way in hell I buy into him being 33. Mid 20s sure but 33? Nooooo
