That satellite that got wiped out had a Wayne Enterprises logo on it btw.

Disappointed that I didn't get my KNEEL!! moment, but Shannon was very methodical and intimidating as Zod compared to Ledger's carefree and crazy Joker.

Terrence stamp's performance will never be topped, but Shannon was awesome. didn't expect superman to break his neck... The action was straight out of the justice league cartoon . only wish it was a bit more like reeves compassion. btw, superman tacling zod and driving him through a gas station and nuclear plant was badass, but didn't he kill people?

Probably dont need a Spoilers tag because of the OP but I know most havent watched it yet so ill do it anyways

<>>*SPOILERS************<<<>>>>>>

Okay, so overall I love this movie. I dont want to compare them but you kind of have to so ill say i think it is on the level of the Batman films but the movie is still fresh on my mind so i could be overreacting but thats my guy reaction.

I though General Zod was AMAZING. They made him and Supes Dad a Beast and the fight scenes were incredible. They found new ways to keep the fighting interesting and Superman was kept at a level of vulnerability for a lot of the fight scenes to keep it interesting, which was vital for the movies success. Every scene on Krypton was money and i loved the way they made the story their own

The overall arc of a story flowed really well. They didnt give you a cut and dry "oh here is Superman as a baby, then as a teen, then him now", they spliced the story together in a way that felt natural and Kept Ja-el in the plot throughout the movie which was an excellent move.

I love how they never made Superman really feel comfortable, he was an outcast, an alien, etc which again gave him some vulnerability, Making people feel bad a superhero that has no weaknesses is not an easy task. The flashbacks were some of the strongest parts of the movie (and some of the weaker).

I thought Superman himself was pretty good. As good as he needed to be. But the strength of this movie is Ja-el and Zod.

I did not like Lois Lane. Idk what it was but i found myself hating her. Most of the human characters were pretty cheesy, but not that noticeable

Dialogue was probably the weakest part of the movie. There were some bad lines like the "Theres only 1 way this ends, either you die or I do!!" Umm im sorry Zod, thats 2 ways that ends. There was only a couple of those moments but it deserves mention

Also some cheesy moments like Superman punching and screaming at Zod at the farm.

I was worried that Supes and Zod wouldnt get a shot at 1v 1 but they did and it was great. Had me smiling ear to ear in enjoyment

Overall, it was a great fun action flick that made you care about its characters and and GREAT superman flick. It got much deserved claps at the end.

My early Rating is a 9.0/10. It could go up of down on a rewatch and time to settle

Did you see how fricking huge Metropolis was? They morphed Manhattan, LA, Chicago, Dallas, etc into one huge supercity.

I did catch one tiny editing error during the Smallville scene, that 99% of people won't notice or really even care about lol

I can't even write a review on this.

It was absolutely amazing.

Clark Kent and the odd-jobs, the suppressing of his powers, the scene when he ran out the classroom...

Krypton, and the music that was playing as it was gasping its last breaths...

Man I felt kind of sad for Zod...

Easily the best, realistic Clark Kent ever...

God knows it was the best Superman ever...

I would have been fine with a few less buildings being turned into rubble.

9 out of 10 for me

Well done looking forward to seeing it again Sunday. This is a 200 million+ movie over weekend and billion dollar grosser easily.

It was tracking at 100 million. All depends on what wins out: shite critics reviews or stellar word of mouth.

Fantastic movie, loved every second of it. Zod is definetly up there in terms of badass villains as I've loved how it's been portrayed in each of Superman 2, Man Of Steel, and Smallville.

It's hard to really compare the superhero movies as each story is vastly different, but it's the superhero movie i've enjoyed sitting in the theatre to see the most.

Zod is ahead of Magneto and slightly behind The Joker as my best superhero movie villain.

Also, are we going to ignore how much arse that Jor-El kicked in such a short time? Even in space, Maximus is still Maximus

Faora-El has some sexy eyes. She might rip my spine out afterwards, but I'd go at with her old school Kryptonian style.

So it's pretty obvious that Lex Luthor will have a presence in the sequel, so who would you like to have play him?

Obviously Luthor won't be the primary villain, so who would you like to see? Brainiac? Darkseid?

When I left the theatre I thought Brainiac or Doomsday would make the most sense for the next movie with the heavy focus of Kryptonian heritage that took place in this movie.

However, I do agree that Luthor should be paired up with a villain for the next movie and Darkseid or Brainiac make perfect sense, i'm hoping Brainiac.

I'd go with Brainiac for MoS 2, but don't have him die. Have his ego get so bruised and have him feel so insulted that he goes off the deep end and creates Doomsday for Justice League.

1. The pacing and editing of the first hour was ATROCIOUS.
2. The second half was FANTASTIC
3. HC was perfect as Superman

If it wasn't for #1, this would be this years best, however, whoever was in charge of the first half of the movie should be fired TODAY.

Ok, I just got back in and I'm tired and going to sleep soon so I'll say something short and sweet until I can go into depth.

We've been waiting a long time for Superman to be done justice and it finally happened. That was a great, great movie. The story itself was good enough and it held on its own. The action was amazing, it makes Superman Returns look like a stroll in the park. at Brian Singer. Everybody was great in their roles, especially Superman and Zod. This will be cherished by me for a long time.

Good night.

My theories were confirmed that this should have solely been Snyder's film and that Goyer and Nolan should have kept their hands out of it. As a Superman movie it's pretty good but as a movie it's almost completely vapid and nothing but spectacle, albeit one that rings hollow after a while.

Just got back from the midnite show. Too overwhelmed to really take it in right now. The action was amazing, but where it succeeded the most was in its heart. I was fighting against the pacing, flashbacks, and setup the entire time, but it just kind of morphed into this ambitious sci-fi, which Superman was meant to be. In my mind they successfully found the darker alien side and placed it unambiguously right into the hearth of America. Cavill made it work. Lane and Costner delivered. Amy Adams was much better than I was expecting, not the Lois we've been accustomed to, but viable and more heartfelt than ever before. Have to watch it again to really take it in. Faora was a bad...arse.

So Lex did get some sort of mention? How did they do it?

No mention, but there were a few Lexcorp tanker trunks that figured prominently.
