So Superman and Ice Man both loses?

So someone gets a bye next round!

Neat!

The argument for Deadpool winning is he has a gun that shoots goop to cover Deadbolt's mouth?? Which means he had time to prepare.

hummmmm

No. Deadpool has access to a near infinite supply of guns, weapons, and ammunition from around the universe through his magic satchel. He doesn't have to prepare. He just grabs whatever he needs. It's pretty simple.

Additionally, he can teleport away from the blast, throw a hologram of himself out there to distract Black Bolt after teleporting, then teleport behind Black Bolt and stab him with a blade. There are tons of ways for Deadpool to beat Black Bolt. That's before getting into the fact that he knows he's a comic book character and can utilize his "ability" to break the fourth wall in any number of unexpected ways.

And the teleportation device and hologram device are not a matter of preparation. He always has those. If he gets hit by Black Bolt, he regenerates, understands Black Bolt needs to use his voice, and he develops a strategy to beat him, which could be done in a variety of ways.

Black Bolt is extremely limited in the manner in which he attacks and defends. Deadpool is not. There is a reason he is considered to have top level "energy projections" on Marvel's official site and it isn't because he likes to use MP5s.

ETA: If you don't think I should pick Deadpool, fine. I've listed my reasons. I think Deadpool could beat Black Bolt. Go vote for Black Bolt. frick. That's the whole point of this.

Its not in the nature of most of the bracket's participants. But this is a fight to the death tournament, the OP says only immortals can be defeated by mere incapacitation.

Wondering if she could put psychic breakers or blocks between Reyes' brain and the armor and what the effect would be.

The best example of a suicide round would be if captain atom or firestorm turn themselves into a nuke and go off to kill the other guy.

True, but I think her first course of action would be to incapacitate the opponent. Which would only make the scarab take control and incapacitate her before she can up the stakes.

I still say her telekinetic shield could withstand anything the Scarab could throw at her.

Regardless, the Blue Beetle has only received one vote so far. I'm not too worried about this one.

I have to disagree with you. She's strong, bu she's not that strong.

I find it hard to imagine Deadpool defeating Black Bolt.

This is a good point. If the tournament involves only fights to the death then Jean Grey would go for death immediately.

Saying Jean Grey is strong is like saying Rust Cohle sniffed paint once

so let me get this blue beetle vs jean gray debate straight: we're supposed to use the non-sucky version of the beetle against the less powerful jean gray and then assume that she won't risk killing her opponent?

Not much of a match-up if she can absorb energy and he's made up of energy. Unless I am missing something...?

I'm kind of surprised at all the Cap votes over Spidey.

Anyone wanna help me see the light?

No. This isn't the X-men Origins: Wolverine Deadpool. This is the comic book Deadpool.

He can teleport. He has a device that allows him to do this. Cable and Deadpool both can teleport, if I'm not mistaken.

Question about wizards in this tourney, these are the ones I know the least about never was my thing, but do they come with a ton of spells already? The no prep time got me thinking that someone who uses magic may be screwed from the start.

Without them knowing each other ahead of time I give this fight to Cap. Cap is used to fighting people faster, stronger and tougher than he is while Spiderman would not take it seriously enough once he realized Cap had no powers. The under-estimation would cost him as Spidey would eventually get close enough to go mano-a-mano and Cap would just knock him out with a shield-bash to the face.

No, because Spidey would win. Superior reflexes, faster, more evasive, stronger, as good a defense, and a pretty good hand-to-hand combatant in his own right.

You may as well just vote for Iron Man. Tony Strak winning over Swamp Thing was a farce
